Our Organization:

The Global Stores and Supply Chain Solution Delivery organization is responsible for delivering technology solutions to drive growth, enable efficiency, and improve customer experience at the front-line in our stores and managing various supply chain related solutions within TJX IT.

The Data & Analytics function thrives on strong relationships with our business partners and working diligently to address their needs, which support TJX growth and operational stability. As we expand our capabilities, we are growing our presence in India to include a new focus on Data Analytics. Associates in India will work closely with global teams to mature and scale our services.

What you’ll do

We seek a motivated, talented Senior Engineer with good understanding of cloud architecture, data warehousing, data modeling concepts to help design enterprise data engineering and reporting solutions across global stores organization.

You will be working with product teams, architecture and business partners to strategically plan and deliver the product features by connecting the technical and business worlds. You will need to break down complex problems into steps that drive product development while keeping product quality and security as the priority. You will be responsible for most design and technical decisions within assigned scope. 

AI & Innovation

• Drive adoption of Gen AI and Agentic AI to enhance analytics, automation, and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Build advanced Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models tailored to business needs and implement DAX calculations and optimize queries for performance. 
• Create and maintain data models ensuring accuracy and scalability and connect Power BI to multiple data sources (SQL Server, Azure, APIs). 
• Build JAVA/.NET/Python based UI Screens for report facilitating the reports.
• Monitor and improve report performance using best practices for data modeling and query optimization. 
• Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and manage user access and ensure compliance with organizational data governance standards. 
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs, translate the requirements into technical specifications and deliverables. 
• Guide junior engineers and provide best practice recommendations. 
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to BI development standards. 
• Manage Power BI Service environments, including workspaces and gateways and Support CI/CD pipelines for BI solutions. 
• Stay updated on Power BI / Sigma features, data visualization trends, and Azure BI ecosystem. 
• Develop solid understanding of the end-to-end business application processes. 
• Recommend enhancements to improve reporting efficiency and user experience. 

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Engineering skillset / training / work experience in relevant technical domain  
• 5+ years of strong experience in BI/reporting development, with at least 2–3 years focused on Power BI / Sigma.
• Should have good experience in UI screens development to facilitate the reports.
• Hands-on experience in leading and delivering medium to large scale projects end to end whilst maintaining good understanding of coding standards, Performance tuning and database concepts. 
• Demonstrated leadership in the fields of Reporting from data warehousing, database and data lake. 
• Strong communication and influence skills. solid team player with mentorship skills. 
• Ability to understand the work environment and competing priorities in conjunction with developing/meeting project goals. 
• Shows a positive, open-minded, and can-do attitude. 
• Strong automation and engineering mindset. 
• Experience working in an Agile (Scrum/Kanban/SAFe) environment. 

Experience in the following technologies:

• Strong experience with Power BI or other enterprise BI platforms (Like : Cognos & Sigma) for developing scalable, high-impact dashboards, reports, and semantic data models tailored to retail operations.  

• Strong proficiency in DAX and Power Query (M language) for complex business logic, data transformations, and performance optimization in large-scale reporting environments.  

• Expertise in dimensional data modelling, including star and snowflake schemas, to support consistent and reusable analytics.  

• Hands-on experience integrating Power BI or similar BI tools with Snowflake and Azure Data Factory (ADF) for building robust, automated data pipelines and analytics workflows.  

• Proficient in SQL and PL/SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis across cloud (Azure, Snowflake) or on-premises data environments.  

• Experience with Python for automation, data wrangling, and enhancing BI workflows with advanced analytics or ML model outputs.  
• Should have good experience in UI screens development to facilitate the reports Using JAVA/ .Net / Python.

• Working knowledge of GitHub or similar version control systems for collaborative development, code reviews, and CI/CD integration.  

• Proficient in Shell Scripting for automating data workflows and managing system tasks, especially in Linux/RHEL environments.  

• Familiarity with scheduling tools such as Control-M, Autosys, or Azure Scheduler for orchestrating complex BI and data engineering jobs across distributed systems. 

Nice To Have

• Programing languages like Spark, Python, PySpark. 

• Experience with tools such as JIRA, Service NOW. 

• Knowledge of IT Security & Compliance 

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for BI solution deployment 

• Familiarity with advanced analytics and machine learning integration within BI platforms
