Job Summary:

This is an exciting time to join as our Senior Director, Total Rewards - Europe. You will lead compensation and benefits programs for our operations in Europe. This role will be instrumental in ensuring that we attract, retain and motivate top talent through competitive and equitable compensation and benefits practices that are aligned with the company’s strategic goals. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the European market (~25 countries), strong analytical skills, and a proven track record in compensation and benefits management. Responsibility will include oversight of salary structures, incentive plans, and equity programs, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of compensation and benefits programs, union negotiations, works council involvement, contractual agreements, and global HR systems. A deep knowledge of job architecture and an ability to navigate local and global system integration will be critical.

Key Responsibilities:

- Strategy Development: Design and implement a comprehensive compensation strategy that aligns with the company’s objectives and enhances employee engagement. Leverage the global benefits strategy to execute within assigned market.

- Market Analysis: Conduct regular benchmarking and competitive analysis to ensure our compensation and benefits offerings are competitive within the industry and market. Oversee job architecture and classification processes to ensure consistency, scalability, and alignment with the organization’s global HR framework.

- Policy Oversight: Develop, review, and update compensation and benefits policies and programs to ensure compliance with legal standards (labor law, tax regulations, industry trends) and alignment with best practices. Ensure all Total Rewards programs comply with these regulations and manage risk through proactive policy development. European Pay Transparency Directive will be an area of focus in the immediate timeframe.

- Collaboration: Partner with HR leadership, finance, and senior management to align compensation and benefits strategies with business goals and workforce planning.

- Program Management: Oversee the design and administration of compensation programs, including base pay, variable pay, and benefits offerings that drive performance and satisfaction.

- Data Analytics: Utilize data analytics and reporting tools to assess the effectiveness of compensation and benefits programs, making recommendations for improvements based on findings. Continuously assess market competitiveness and internal alignment to ensure optimal employee satisfaction and retention.

- Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of total rewards professionals supporting Europe, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

- Employee Communication: Develop effective communication strategies to ensure employees are informed and engaged with their compensation and benefits programs.

- Budget Management: Manage the compensation budget and ensure programs are cost-effective.

- Performance Management: Collaborate with HR and management to align compensation with performance management initiatives.

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification is preferred.

- Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in compensation and benefits management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a large organization.

- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership capabilities, with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.

- Analytical Expertise: Proficient in compensation analytics and data interpretation, with a strong understanding of relevant tools and software.

- Market Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of European compensation and benefits trends, regulations, and best practices.

- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively.
