Job Description:
About the Role
Epiq Advisory for Law Firms is seeking a Senior Consultant, Change Enablement to help law firm and corporate legal clients adopt new technologies, processes, and ways of working in a practical, measurable, and sustainable way. Reporting to the Change Enablement Director, this role will support and deliver change workstreams across advisory and implementation engagements, including programs involving AI adoption, knowledge management, data modernization, document and knowledge platforms, workflow automation, and operational transformation.
The Senior Consultant will work directly with lawyers, knowledge professionals, legal operations teams, business services leaders, and client stakeholders to translate strategy into clear adoption plans, role-based communications, training, readiness activities, feedback loops, and reinforcement models. This is a client-facing consulting role for someone who combines strong change management discipline with an understanding of legal industry culture, risk sensitivity, billable hour pressures, governance expectations, and the realities of adopting change inside professional services environments.
Key Responsibilities
Client Delivery & Change Execution
- Support the delivery of change enablement engagements, including stand-alone change programs and embedded change workstreams within broader Epiq advisory and implementation initiatives.
- Develop and execute practical adoption plans that translate client strategy, project recommendations, and implementation activity into clear actions for impacted users.
- Conduct stakeholder analysis, change impact assessments, readiness assessments, persona development, and adoption risk reviews across legal and business services audiences.
- Create communications, training materials, stakeholder briefings, office hours content, launch plans, and reinforcement activities tailored to lawyers, professional staff, practice groups, and business services teams.
- Support client interviews, workshops, focus groups, surveys, and feedback loops to identify resistance, adoption barriers, process pain points, and opportunities to improve engagement.
- Track adoption, usage, behavior change, readiness, and value realization metrics, and help translate findings into practical recommendations for client teams.
Legal-Centric Enablement
- Help clients embed new tools, processes, and behaviors into day-to-day legal workflows in ways that are role-appropriate, realistic, and sustainable.
- Translate complex technology, AI, data, knowledge management, and operating model changes into clear messaging that resonates with legal audiences.
- Design and support enablement programs for partners, associates, paralegals, knowledge professionals, practice support, legal operations, IT, and administrative teams.
- Apply an understanding of law firm culture, governance, risk management, confidentiality, and billable work pressures to shape adoption strategies that fit the client environment.
- Support change activities connected to AI adoption, document and knowledge platforms, enterprise search, workflow automation, data modernization, process improvement, and operating model change.
Project Support & Consulting Discipline
- Partner with the Change Enablement Director, Epiq Advisory practice leads, project managers, and client teams to keep change activities aligned with project scope, timelines, deliverables, and business outcomes.
- Prepare client-ready deliverables, including change strategies, adoption roadmaps, communications plans, training plans, stakeholder maps, readiness reports, and executive summaries.
- Coordinate with Epiq Advisory teams across AI, knowledge management, data modernization, document management, search, experience management, and operational improvement to support integrated client solutions.
- Identify project risks, open questions, dependencies, and decision points, and communicate them clearly to engagement leadership.
- Contribute to a high-quality consulting experience through strong facilitation, organized work planning, clear documentation, and responsive client communication.
Practice Development & Internal Capability
- Support the development of reusable change enablement tools, templates, playbooks, workshop materials, adoption frameworks, and delivery assets for the legal market.
- Contribute to proposals, statements of work, client presentations, and business development materials by helping define practical change activities and deliverables.
- Stay current on legal industry trends, emerging technologies, AI adoption patterns, and evolving best practices in change management and enablement.
- Share lessons learned across engagements to strengthen Epiq Advisory’s change enablement methodology and delivery consistency.
What We’re Looking For
- Meaningful experience supporting or delivering change management, adoption, training, communications, or transformation programs in a consulting, professional services, legal, technology, or complex enterprise environment.
- Strong understanding of change management principles and methodologies, such as Prosci/ADKAR, Kotter, or comparable frameworks, with the ability to apply them pragmatically rather than mechanically.
- Familiarity with law firm or corporate legal department environments, including the way lawyers and legal professionals work, make decisions, manage risk, and respond to change.
- Experience supporting change programs connected to AI, knowledge management, legal technology, document management, enterprise platforms, data modernization, workflow automation, or operating model transformation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, polished, client-ready materials for executive, lawyer, technical, and business services audiences.
- Strong facilitation, interviewing, listening, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to surface concerns, clarify needs, and translate feedback into action.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams, deadlines, and deliverables in a fast-moving client-facing environment.
- Comfort working through ambiguity, adapting to evolving client priorities, and balancing strategic recommendations with practical execution.
- A collaborative, hands-on mindset and a willingness to build reusable assets, improve methods, and contribute to the growth of a developing practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in or with law firms, corporate legal departments, legal operations teams, knowledge management teams, innovation teams, or legal technology functions.
- Prosci, change management, project management, instructional design, training, communications, or related certification.
- Experience developing persona-based adoption plans, role-based learning journeys, executive communications, or reinforcement models.
- Exposure to Microsoft 365, Copilot, iManage, NetDocuments, Litera, Intapp, knowledge management platforms, enterprise search, workflow tools, AI platforms, or other legal technology ecosystems.
- Experience supporting consulting proposals, SOWs, project plans, or client-facing delivery artifacts.
