Job Title: Senior Accountant / Head of Accounting

Location: Remote

Schedule: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM Mountain Time (Full-Time)

Salary Range: Up to $2,000 USD per month

We are seeking an experienced, analytical Senior Accountant / Head of Accounting to take full ownership of the accounting function across multiple business entities.

This role goes beyond traditional bookkeeping. The ideal candidate has a strong background in e-commerce accounting, particularly businesses operating on Amazon and other online sales channels. They will oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and reconciliations while identifying opportunities to improve financial visibility, cash flow management, and forecasting accuracy.

The successful candidate will also collaborate with Engineering and Machine Learning teams to develop and improve financial systems, automation, and cash flow forecasting processes. We are looking for someone proactive and technically comfortable who can independently lead accounting operations and contribute to the company's financial strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations & Financial Management

• Take full ownership of the accounting function across multiple business entities.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in QuickBooks.
• Oversee general accounting operations, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.
• Ensure the accuracy and consistency of financial information across business entities.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting workflows and processes.

Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR).
• Maintain organized records of incoming and outgoing payments.
• Monitor financial transactions to ensure accurate and timely recording.
• Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues as they arise.

E-commerce & Multi-Entity Accounting

• Manage complex accounting operations for e-commerce businesses across multiple companies.
• Maintain accurate financial records for businesses operating across different sales channels.
• Support financial reporting and reconciliation for Amazon-based businesses and other e-commerce operations.
• Improve financial visibility across business entities and revenue streams.

Cash Flow Forecasting & Financial Systems

• Collaborate with Engineering and Machine Learning teams to design and improve cash flow forecasting systems.
• Help develop and optimize financial tools, reporting systems, and automation.
• Identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy and financial planning.
• Translate accounting and financial requirements into actionable insights for technical teams.

Process Improvement & Financial Analysis

• Proactively identify opportunities to improve financial reporting and operational efficiency.
• Analyze financial data to improve cash flow management and overall financial visibility.
• Develop and implement more effective accounting workflows.
• Take initiative in strengthening financial processes and systems as the business grows.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Previous experience as a Head of Accounting, Accounting Manager, Lead Accountant, Financial Controller, or sole accountant responsible for a company's accounting operations.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and account reconciliation.
• Hands-on experience managing accounting operations independently.
• Experience overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Experience managing financial records across multiple business entities.
• Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to take full ownership of accounting operations and work independently.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on financial accuracy, process improvement, and operational efficiency.

Nice-to-Haves

• Strong background in e-commerce accounting, particularly businesses with complex financial operations.
• Experience managing accounting for Amazon-based businesses.
• Experience serving as the accounting lead for a private-label brand generating most of its revenue through Amazon, TikTok Shop, Meta, or similar e-commerce channels.
• Experience collaborating with software engineers or technical teams to develop financial systems.
• Familiarity with financial automation and cash flow forecasting tools.
• Experience improving financial reporting processes and accounting workflows.
• Experience supporting businesses operating across multiple e-commerce platforms.
