Part Time Production Stagehand

KTLA is seeking experienced Stagehands to support the construction, installation, maintenance, and strike of its Rose Parade broadcast talent booth and production infrastructure. Crew members will safely construct and dismantle elevated broadcast platforms, talent booths, set elements, staging, scenic components, and related production infrastructure above and adjacent to the grandstand locations.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in live event production, staging, carpentry, rigging support, and temporary structure installation consistent with the standards and work practices of event production crews.

DUTIES:

• Construct and assemble temporary broadcast talent booths, platforms, decks, walls, scenic elements, and workspaces.

• Load, unload, and transport production equipment, construction materials, staging components, soft goods, and scenic assets.

• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, ladders, and other event-production equipment.

• Support rigging and installation activities.

• Install signage, scenic treatments, drapes, graphics, furniture, and talent-facing set components.

• Maintain a safe and organized work environment throughout all phases of installation and strike.

• Responsible for maintaining production staging areas for on-air presentation. Including set elements, dressings, flooring, and furnishings.

• Work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions during setup, event operations, and teardown periods.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Three to five years professional experience as a stagehand, event technician, carpenter or production rigger assistant in theater, live television or events.

• Knowledge of live event production and temporary structure construction.

• Prop and grip experience a must.

• Proficiency with common hand and power tools.

• Familiarity with safe material-handling procedures.

• Understanding of fall protection and elevated work practices.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier loads with team assistance.

• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

• Must be a member of IATSE or willing to join.

AVAILABLE:  Immediately.

Compensation: $39.51 hourly
