The IT Technician provides frontline and intermediate technical support for broadcast, production, and business technology systems. This role serves as a bridge between traditional IT support and broadcast engineering, ensuring reliable operation of computers, software, networks, media workflows, and broadcast-related technologies.  The specialist troubleshoots user issues, supports critical production systems, and works closely with News, Production and Sales departments.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support

• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for broadcast and corporate technology systems.
• Respond to and resolve support requests through ticketing systems, phone, email, and in-person assistance.
• Troubleshoot workstation, software, printer, mobile device, and peripheral issues.
• Configure, deploy, and maintain desktops, laptops, monitors, and user hardware.

Network & Infrastructure Support

• Perform basic network troubleshooting for wired and wireless systems.
• Support IP-based broadcast and production technologies.
• Identify connectivity and performance issues affecting broadcast operations.
• Coordinate with engineering team to resolve infrastructure issues.

Operational Support

• Assist with software deployment, updates, and patch management.
• Assist with equipment installation, testing, and system upgrades.
• Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and group memberships.
• Maintain documentation of issues, resolutions, and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain asset inventory and technology documentation.
• Monitor system health and escalate issues to Broadcast Engineers when necessary.
• Participate in after-hours support and on-call rotations as required.
• Support Microsoft 365 services including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.

Required Qualifications

• Technical degree in Information Systems, Digital Electronics, Broadcasting or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience supporting Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications.
• Working knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Wi-Fi.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
• Fluency in English
• Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in television, radio, media, production, or broadcast environments.
• Familiarity with broadcast systems such as:
  • Newsroom Computer Systems (NRCS)
  • Media Asset Management (MAM)
  • Video servers and playout systems
  • Non-linear editing systems
  • IP video and audio transport technologies
