  • Full-time, permanent with base salary in the range of $85,451 - $94,983 + 17% super (HEW Level 5)

About This Opportunity  

Join UQ as a Program Officer and help inspire the next generation of students by creating inclusive and engaging experiences that open pathways to higher education. In this varied and rewarding role, you will coordinate outreach programs, workshops and events, support UQ Outreach Ambassadors and Mentors, and contribute to the successful delivery of initiatives that connect students with university life.

Working closely with partner schools, students, UQ colleagues and external stakeholders, you'll help deliver meaningful experiences for students from a broad range of backgrounds, including communities historically underrepresented in higher education. Your strong organisational skills and attention to detail will help ensure programs are delivered smoothly, efficiently and with a positive impact.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Support the administration, logistics and delivery of outreach programs, events and educational activities.

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with partner schools and key internal and external stakeholders.

  • Support the successful delivery of the Ambassador and Mentor Program through planning, scheduling, communication and administration.

  • Maintain program records, resources, budgets and reporting to ensure effective program delivery and continuous improvement.

  • Bring flexibility to support key outreach activities and events, which may occasionally involve early starts from 7am or evening finishes up to 8pm, while working standard daily hours.

About You

You will bring a service-focused and highly organised approach, along with the confidence to coordinate many moving parts and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders.

You will also demonstrate: 

  • Relevant education or equivalent experience in student services, outreach, community engagement, program administration or a related area.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with careful attention to detail when preparing correspondence, checking bookings and confirming logistics.

  • Demonstrated administration and event coordination capability, including confidence using digital systems and the ability to quickly learn specialist platforms.

  • The ability to prioritise, multitask and meet deadlines in a busy environment while maintaining accurate records and dependable follow-through.

  • An understanding of the regional, social, cultural and financial barriers that can affect participation in higher education, particularly for students from underrepresented backgrounds.

  • A current unrestricted Queensland driver’s licence, as occasional travel to partner schools and community locations is required.
