The Program Coordinator manages the certification of financial aid eligibility including verification of financial aid documents and awarding of financial aid for undergraduate, graduate and professional students in the Office of Student Financial Aid (SFA) at The Ohio State University; manages the daily workflow of the area, monitors and prioritizes work in collaboration with the management team in the area; coordinates the workflow for specialty areas such as satisfactory academic progress (SAP), special circumstances appeal, R2T4 and consortiums; assists with prioritizing work during peak processing times including the processing of Parent and Graduate Plus loans, private loans, University loans, R2T4 and loan aggregate reviews; trains new staff once they have completed new SFA staff training program to ensure they learn the processes and procedures specific to the Eligibility Analysis and Operations area; works with current staff to ensure qualitative standards set are met; provides information, processing and training services to staff in SFA; creates and implements policies and procedures, monitors quality control, attends meetings, maintains confidentiality of sensitive information and performs special duties as assigned.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

50% Manages the certification of financial aid eligibility including verification of financial aid documents and awarding of financial aid for undergraduate, graduate and professional students in the Office of Student Financial Aid at The Ohio State University; manages the daily workflow of the area, monitors and prioritizes work in collaboration with the management team in the area; coordinates the workflow for specialty areas such as satisfactory academic progress (SAP), special circumstances appeal, R2T4 and consortiums; assists with prioritizing work during peak processing times including the processing of Parent and Graduate Plus loans, private loans, University loans and loan aggregate reviews.

40% Trains new staff once they have completed new SFA staff training program to ensure they learn the processes and procedures specific to the Eligibility Analysis and Operations area; works with current staff to ensure qualitative standards set are met.

10% Provides information, processing, and training services to staff in SFA, assists in creating and implementing policies and procedures, monitors quality control, attends meetings, maintains confidentiality of documents and performs special duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

Required: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Four (4) years of relevant experience required; This position requires successful completion of a background and credit check.

Desired: Advanced degree in relevant field may be desirable. Four to eight (4-8) years of relevant experience preferred. Knowledge of federal, state, and university financial aid programs, financial aid computer processing systems and research tools; Microsoft (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook); problem solving and communication skills, supervisory/management experience.

Additional Information:

The pay range for this position is $47,700 - $53,000. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
