Our Minds Matter (OMM) is working toward a day when no teen dies by suicide. Driven by research and led by teens, OMM clubs create safe, brave spaces where young people build social connections, practice self-care and healthy habits, and offer peer-to-peer mental health support. Originally founded as the Josh Anderson Foundation, we began with five schools in Fairfax County in 2012 and a sole employee: founding Executive Director Lauren Anderson, who named the organization in honor of her brother, Josh, who died by suicide at the age of 17. In the decade-plus since our founding, OMM has grown to become the leading provider of peer-to-peer mental health programming for teens in the DC Metro Area (DMV). We are a majority BIPOC-led organization currently supporting a network of 149 clubs in high schools, middle schools and teen centers nationwide, with the majority located in the DMV.
The Role
The Program Coordinator will foster connections and build relationships within the OMM network and clubs. They will be responsible for the successful implementation, coaching, and sustainability of a portfolio of OMM programs. The Program Coordinator will report to the School Success Manager as a vital member of OMM’s growing program team, working to meet OMM’s strategic goal of sustaining and expanding OMM's regional and national presence.
Additionally, the coordinator will work closely with the Program Leadership Team and other members of the program team to support youth leadership development training, awareness campaigns, and various other program initiatives that enrich the experience for participating teens, while proactively reaching marginalized populations.

Key Responsibilities
Program Delivery
Tasks related to this job include:
- Build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with school staff and students to ensure effective program engagement.
- Manage the end-to-end club cycle by processing applications, facilitating seamless onboarding, and providing the necessary oversight to ensure a successful program launch at assigned schools
- Provide ongoing support to a designated group of schools, helping them achieve positive health and programmatic goals and ensuring successful program outcomes.
- Identify challenges in program implementation within schools and troubleshoot barriers by co-developing tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of schools and students.
- Contribute to communication efforts within the OMM network to enhance program engagement and participation across various initiatives.
- Collaborate with Program Leadership on projects aimed at continuously improving and developing school-based programming.
- Use Salesforce and follow OMM procedures to accurately track program metrics, document trends in program implementation, and identify areas that may hinder achieving key program goals and milestones.
- Assist program evaluation efforts by collecting implementation and outcome data, while actively engaging participants to complete surveys and assessments to ensure accurate monitoring of progress and success.
- Fulfill, organize, and distribute mailings to partners or schools
- Utilize a discretionary budget to drive program engagement by implementing incentive structures, and maintaining financial tracking and reporting
Program Outreach & Expansion
Tasks related to this job include:
- Process and communicate with select leads and opportunities
- Boost club applications by managing a select portion of the prospect pipeline through info sessions, events, persistent follow-up, and diversified outreach strategies.
- Support unique outreach strategies to build community relationships and support the expansion of programs
- Track and document all outreach activities, capturing key metrics, success stories, and areas for improvement
- Support special initiatives and represent the organization at key community events.
Project Coordination
Tasks related to this job include:
- Assist in the operational aspects of program delivery, ensuring all logistics are handled efficiently
- Assist in the development and maintenance of project plans, timelines, and schedules to ensure the timely delivery of project milestones
- Serve as a central point of contact for internal teams and external stakeholders, facilitating effective communication and information flow
- Maintain accurate project documentation, prepare regular status reports, and support data collection for performance tracking and decision-making
- Coordinate resources, track task assignments, and follow up with team members to ensure completion of activities according to the project plan
- Help with managing inventory and ordering materials
- Execute updates on various platforms such as Salesforce, WordPress, and Intranet
Other Responsibilities
Tasks related to this job include:
- Contribute to the team in a meaningful and genuine way through actively participating in team meetings, culture building, participating in committees, and helping the organization continuously improve
- Assist with event planning and other projects as needed

Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience working with adolescents/youth and/or in the mental health field.
- Strong interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain relationships
- Effective verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills to develop positive relationships with teens, families, staff, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to take initiative, work autonomously, and practice effective time and task management
- Ability to obtain Youth Mental Health First Aid certificate within 3 months of hire if no psychology/social work background
- Ability to travel to middle schools in the DC-Metro/DMV area as needed
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve independently and offer solutions before seeking assistance
- Strong follow-up and attention to detail
- Ability to effectively work with Google Suite platforms such as Drive, Sheets, and Forms
- Passion for improving mental health, especially in our teen population
- Demonstrated commitment to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion
- Valid criminal background check via state police and Child Protective Services
- Flexibility for planned evening and weekend work hours.
Desired Qualifications
- Preference for individuals with a relationship with District of Columbia Public Schools, Charter Schools, or DC Metro Area community (current/former residents, alumni, etc)
- Experience with public speaking and facilitating or hosting events
- Strong technical knowledge of teen mental health, social-emotional learning, suicide prevention, and substance use prevention strongly preferred
- Knowledge, understanding, and experience with the unique cultural, social, and economic barriers facing immigrant families and/or historically underserved communities
- Professional or lived experience with teens or young adults from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Comfort with non-didactic facilitation styles and leading high-energy activities
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work autonomously, with minimal day-to-day guidance provided by supervisor
- Experience working with online software such as Slack, WordPress, Salesforce, Tableau, Canva, Asana

The salary range for this full-time position is $64,789-$77,248 commensurate with experience. OMM offers generous benefits that include:

Location
Primary office location is 1140 3rd St NE, Washington, DC 20002 with our team primarily expected to be in office one day a week. The ideal candidate would be located in the DMV (Washington DC, Maryland, & Northern Virginia) metro area and is expected to travel to DMV area schools at least 2-3 times per week. OMM will provide mileage reimbursement for travel to site visits.
