ABOUT THE COMPANY: 

The Client is a registered Australian private construction and site establishment company based in Loganholme, Queensland. Founded in 2019, the company specializes in comprehensive structural, site setup, and temporary works for major infrastructure and commercial precinct developments 

ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Production Estimator is responsible for pricing commercial construction tenders from take-off through to pre-submission across the clients’ diverse scope of carpentry, civil, general, modular building, metalwork, FF&E and temporary works packages. Every day is different — you’ll work across a wide variety of scopes, trades, and project types, building your commercial knowledge with every estimate. This is a production-focused role requiring the ability to manage multiple live tenders concurrently, maintain pricing accuracy, and communicate effectively with suppliers, subcontractors, and Tier 1 clients predominantly via email. The role is performed remotely from the Philippines as an integrated member of clients’based estimating team. You will work Australian business hours, report daily to the Estimating Manager, and operate within the Microsoft Office Environment. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Quantity Take-offs & Pricing 

• Complete accurate quantity take‑offs from architectural and engineering drawings using Cubit Estimating Software, Bluebeam, etc. - documenting all assumptions. • Apply the clients’ Project Specific Schedule of Rates (SoR) for labour, and supplier pricing to produce detailed cost build‑ups. 

• Prepare trade breakdowns, inclusions, exclusions, and pricing assumptions suitable for commercial tender submissions. 

• Identify cost risks, scope gaps, and ambiguities, and proactively raise queries with the Estimating Manager, Project Team, or Contract Administration. 

2) Supplier & Subcontractor Communication 

• Engage with Australian suppliers and subcontractors to request pricing, clarify scope, and follow up on outstanding quotations. 

• Prepare and issue RFQs to approved suppliers and subcontractors. 

• Consolidate returned pricing, assess compliance with scope and documentation, and identify value‑engineering opportunities. 

• Verify lead times, craneage requirements, logistics constraints, access limitations, and onboarding requirements to ensure pricing accuracy. 

3) Quotation Compilation & Submission 

• Populate quotation templates, bid forms, returnable schedules, and pricing schedules as required. 

• Develop pricing from first principles where templates do not exist, noting that many clients’ projects are custom or one‑off works. 

• Prepare tender clarifications, exclusions, risk notes, programme assumptions, and compliance responses. 

• Maintain strict version control of tender documentation and ensure internal and external deadlines are achieved. 

4) Post-Submission Follow‑up 

• Assist with tracking tender outcomes (won/lost/pending) and maintain the Estimating Register in cooperation with Estimating Team Support Staff. 

• Respond to post‑tender clarifications and pricing adjustments as required. 

• Prepare and participate in project handover documentation for awarded projects, including final pricing, assumptions, and subcontractor quotations. 

• Support Contract Administration where required, including preparation of scope breakdowns for consistent and accurate claim formats at project commencement 

5) Remote Working & Team Integration 

• Work core hours that align with the Loganholme office (AEST), ensuring availability for live tender coordination, supplier follow-up, and internal reviews during the Australian business day. 

• Attend daily and weekly estimating team meetings via Microsoft Teams, with camera on, and provide clear written progress updates on all live tenders. 

• Work exclusively within the clients’ nominated systems — SharePoint, Outlook, Teams, and Cubit — so that all takeoffs, pricing files, and correspondence remain centrally stored, version controlled, and auditable. 

• Escalate blockers, document gaps, and deadline risks early and in writing — remote working requires more deliberate communication, not less.

Requirements

• Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Building & Construction, Estimating, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline. 

• 2+ years’ experience in a dedicated estimating role, with demonstrated experience estimating to Australian commercial construction standards, measurement conventions, and documentation (Australian industry experience is strongly preferred; equivalent offshore experience pricing Australian projects will be considered). We are preferably looking for candidates whose primary function has been estimating — not project management, site engineering, or contract administration with incidental estimating exposure. 

• Exposure to live construction sites or commercial construction environments is highly regarded. 

• Prior experience working remotely for an Australian or overseas-based employer, or as part of a distributed team, is highly regarded. 

• Must be legally entitled to work in the Philippines. This role is engaged from the Philippines and does not include Australian work rights, visa sponsorship, or relocation.
