Our client is a growing residential community operator that owns and manages manufactured housing communities across several East Coast markets. The organization combines professional property management with a strong focus on resident service, operational consistency, and long-term community performance.
The company is seeking an experienced People & Culture Manager to strengthen its HR function and support employees across corporate and field operations.
This is a hands-on role for an HR professional who can manage day-to-day employee matters while improving the systems and practices that support a growing workforce. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and community managers on recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and workforce planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage core HR operations across corporate offices and geographically dispersed residential communities.
- Partner with managers on employee relations matters, performance concerns, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations.
- Coordinate recruitment and onboarding for corporate, property management, maintenance, and administrative positions.
- Review and improve HR policies, procedures, employee documentation, and internal people processes.
- Support annual performance reviews and help managers establish clear expectations for employees.
- Maintain accurate personnel records and coordinate payroll, benefits, leave, and employment-related documentation.
- Provide practical HR guidance to community managers and other operational leaders.
- Track workforce trends and identify opportunities to strengthen retention, engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
- Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment requirements.
Additional Details
- Occasional travel to residential communities may be required.
- The position works closely with both corporate leadership and field-based employees.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations and generalist responsibilities.
- Experience supporting employees across multiple locations or operating environments.
- Strong understanding of HR policies, employment practices, and workplace compliance.
- Ability to handle sensitive employee matters with sound judgment and discretion.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience with HRIS, payroll, benefits, or workforce management systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities independently.
Preferred
- Experience within property management, housing, real estate, hospitality, facilities, or another multi-site environment.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or similar professional certification.
- Experience supporting operational or field-based employee populations.
