The OSAT Supply Planner is responsible for developing and executing supply plans across outsourced semiconductor assembly and test partners to ensure product availability in support of customer demand and manufacturing requirements.

This role manages the flow of wafer and die inventory through assembly, packaging, test, and finished semiconductor delivery, translating demand requirements into executable OSAT production plans. The planner works closely with OSAT partners and internal Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Product teams to identify constraints, secure capacity, manage priorities, and mitigate supply risk.

The ideal candidate combines strong supply-planning capabilities with an understanding of semiconductor back-end manufacturing, including assembly capacity, test capacity, package materials, yield, cycle time, qualification requirements, and subcontractor management.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short-, medium-, and long-range OSAT supply plans based on customer demand, backlog, forecasts, inventory, and manufacturing requirements.
• Translate product demand into assembly and test requirements by package type, product family, manufacturing process, and OSAT location.
• Manage the movement and availability of wafer and die inventory into OSAT assembly and test operations.
• Coordinate production starts and priorities with OSAT partners to support customer delivery requirements.
• Monitor assembly capacity, test capacity, cycle time, work-in-process, yield, equipment availability, and production output.
• Identify potential OSAT capacity or material constraints and develop mitigation and recovery plans before they impact customer shipments.
• Manage OSAT allocation and production priorities when demand exceeds available assembly or test capacity.
• Coordinate with wafer supply planners to ensure die availability is synchronized with OSAT capacity and production schedules.
• Monitor WIP through key manufacturing stages and proactively identify lots at risk of missing required completion dates.
• Manage production expedites and recovery plans for critical customer requirements.
• Partner with OSAT suppliers to improve delivery performance, cycle time, yield, capacity visibility, and schedule adherence.
• Monitor availability of critical packaging materials such as substrates, leadframes, mold compounds, bonding materials, interposers, and other package-specific components.
• Support capacity planning and determine future assembly/test requirements based on forecast growth and new-product ramps.
• Provide clear supply commits, constraint visibility, and recovery plans to internal stakeholders.
• Participate in S&OP, demand/supply reviews, allocation meetings, shortage reviews, and executive supply reviews.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.

Typically 3–7+ years of experience in semiconductor supply planning, production planning, subcontractor planning, material planning, or manufacturing operations.

Experience working directly with OSATs, semiconductor assembly/test operations, foundries, wafer suppliers, or semiconductor manufacturers is strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP and advanced Excel/data-analysis capabilities is expected. Experience with supply-planning or advanced-planning systems is a plus
