Job Summary
Mass General Brigham Heart and Vascular Institute offers expert care in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of heart disease, including general cardiology, interventional cardiology, heart failure, electrophysiology, while working collaboratively with specialized teams to support device management and anticoagulation care.We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant to be predominantly based in our Somersworth, NH cardiology practice, located just minutes from Dover. This role follows a rotating schedule (Week 1: 7:30am–4:00pm, Week 2: 8:30am–5:00pm), Monday through Friday.
While primarily assigned to Somersworth, the Medical Assistant may be required to float to nearby cardiology locations, including Dover and Portsmouth, based on staffing and operational needs.

The Medical Assistant supports providers through both clinical and administrative responsibilities, including patient rooming, obtaining vital signs, performing EKGs, documentation in the electronic health record (EHR), chart preparation, prescription refill support, results management, and assisting with patient flow and care coordination.

Essential Functions
•Room patients and prepare exam rooms in a cardiology outpatient setting
•Obtain vital signs, EKGs, complete a medication reconciliation, and document accurately in the EHR
•Support medication refills and care coordination
•Assist with clinic flow and provider support
•Participate in clinical huddles and flexible provider assignments
•Recognize changes in patient condition and escalate appropriately
•Support patient education and care coordination
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s degree in Medical Assisting preferred
Experience
- 1–2 years of Medical Assistant or clinical/medical office experience required
- Experience in a fast-paced outpatient or specialty setting strongly preferred
Licensure & Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA or equivalent national certification) preferred

- Using electronic medical records (EHR) and basic clinical systems
- Applying critical thinking in real-time clinical situations
- Managing time effectively and adapting to changing clinic needs
