APAC MDI team comprises three analysts reporting to the APAC IPA Director (located in HK) and supports stakeholders across the Asia Pacific region.

Role Summary

The Analyst provides technical and subject matter expertise in asset, portfolio, performance, statistics, and related investment data to support the accurate production and distribution of investment information. The role contributes to initiatives and projects that enhance data quality, operational efficiency, consistency, and business partner experience across global teams. The Analyst also serves as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders, supports knowledge sharing within the MDI function, and helps ensure that all data outputs comply with distribution rules, compliance requirements, and established team procedures.

About This Job

This role assesses, validates, and reports investment data while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to internal and external compliance standards. The Analyst develops practical knowledge of online tools and reporting platforms, responds to standard and moderately complex stakeholder inquiries, and provides data support for RFPs, DDQs, client reporting, and business initiatives.

Job Summary

• Applies working and conceptual knowledge of investment data, performance, and reporting processes within the role’s area of responsibility.
• Performs a range of assignments related to investment data production, validation, analysis, and stakeholder support.
• Takes ownership of assigned work and coordinates effectively with colleagues and business partners to ensure timely and accurate delivery.
• Independently manages workflow and productivity within established guidelines and policies, while seeking general guidance for new or more complex assignments as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, validates, and reports performance, statistics, risk, and asset data in accordance with internal procedures and external compliance requirements.
• Prepares analysis and develops reports covering account activity, performance, investment data, and related practices and procedures.
• Acts as an escalation point for stakeholder inquiries and continues to build product, market, and investment knowledge to address questions effectively.
• Identifies and recommends opportunities to enhance services, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen the stakeholder experience.
• Continues to develop expertise in investment data, reporting standards, distribution rules, and compliance requirements.
• Owns and coordinates the data component of RFPs, DDQs, and related stakeholder requests.
• Effectively organizes and manages multiple deliverables with competing priorities.

Typical Qualifications

• Technical knowledge of performance measurement, GIPS standards, global financial markets, and investment data processes.
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, with at least five years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience within the asset management industry.
• Business level Japanese and English

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Demonstrated ability to identify, design, and implement process improvements.
• Experience supporting projects or initiatives from concept through implementation, including cross-regional or global efforts.
• Specialized industry knowledge in performance measurement, investment data, and/or data management.
• Experience using market data and investment analytics tools such as Bloomberg, FactSet, Morningstar, Nasdaq eVestment, or similar platforms is preferable.
• Consultative communication style with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and peers across all levels of the organization.
• Ability to coach, support, and influence peers without direct supervisory authority.
• Strong interest in investment data, with completion of or progress toward CFA, CAIA, CIPM, or a comparable professional designation preferred.
• Intellectually curious, analytical, and motivated to solve complex problems.
• Ability to think strategically, creatively, and commercially when addressing business needs.
• Strong understanding of investment analysis, with the ability to interpret portfolio data, performance results, and statistics for business use.
