Pay: 22.00/hr with a 5% increase at the successful completion of 6 mos.

The Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Grant Program Coordinator provides leadership, coordination, and day-to-day management of the Drug-Free Communities Support Program. The Coordinator works collaboratively with coalition members, community organizations, schools, law enforcement, healthcare providers, youth, parents, and other stakeholders to implement evidence-based strategies that prevent youth substance use. This position ensures compliance with federal grant requirements, facilitates coalition activities, manages reporting and evaluation efforts, and promotes community engagement to achieve measurable outcomes.

Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Grant Administration
●    Coordinate all activities required under the Drug-Free Communities grant.
●    Ensure compliance with federal grant guidelines, reporting requirements, and performance measures.
●    Monitor project timelines, objectives, deliverables, and budgets.
●    Prepare progress reports, annual continuation applications, and other grant documentation.
●    Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation for grant monitoring and audits.

Coalition Development
●    Recruit, engage, and retain representatives from the twelve required community sectors.
●    Support coalition committees and workgroups.
●    Foster collaboration among community partners.

Strategic Planning
●    Assist the coalition in conducting community assessments.
●    Coordinate development and implementation of strategic and action plans.
●    Ensure prevention strategies align with DFC core measures and community needs.
●    Monitor progress toward coalition goals and objectives.

Community Prevention Activities
●    Coordinate evidence-based prevention initiatives.
●    Organize educational events, training, and awareness campaigns.
●    Promote environmental prevention strategies that reduce youth access to alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, and other substances.
●    Collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, law enforcement, businesses, and community organizations.

Data Collection and Evaluation
●    Collect and manage program data.
●    Coordinate surveys and community assessments.
●    Work with evaluation partners to monitor program outcomes.
●    Analyze performance measures and prepare reports for stakeholders.
●    Utilize data to guide coalition decision-making and continuous improvement.

Community Outreach
●    Serve as the primary liaison between the coalition and community partners.
●    Develop communication materials including newsletters, social media content, press releases, and educational resources.
●    Deliver presentations to community groups and local organizations.
●    Increase public awareness of prevention initiatives and coalition accomplishments.

Fiscal Management
●    Monitor grant expenditures in collaboration with organizational leadership.
●    Track budgets and ensure allowable expenditures.
●    Assist with procurement, contracts, and reimbursement documentation.
●    Maintain financial records required by the grant.

Partnership Development
●    Build relationships with schools, youth-serving agencies, local government, healthcare providers, faith-based organizations, law enforcement, businesses, parents, and youth leaders.
●    Develop opportunities for collaboration and resource sharing.
●    Support sustainability planning beyond the grant period.

Required Qualifications
●    Experience managing federally funded grants preferred.
●    Strong organizational and project management skills.
●    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
●    Experience facilitating meetings and building collaborative partnerships.
●    Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
●    Proficiency with Microsoft Office and virtual meeting platforms.
●    Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

●    Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Education, Community Development, Public Administration, or a related field.

●    Minimum of two years of experience in program coordination, grant management, public health, prevention, or community coalition work.
●    Knowledge of substance use prevention frameworks including:
○    Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF)
○    Evidence-based prevention strategies
○    Environmental prevention approaches
○    Experience with data analysis and evaluation.
○    Experience working with diverse populations and community stakeholders.
●    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
○    Knowledge of community coalition development.
○    Understanding of youth substance use prevention principles.
○    Knowledge of grant compliance and federal reporting requirements.
○    Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
○    Strong leadership and facilitation skills.
○    Excellent public speaking and presentation abilities.
○    Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
○    Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
○    Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions
●    Primarily office-based between two schools with frequent travel throughout the community.
●    Evening and occasional weekend meetings and events required.
●    Ability to lift up to 25 pounds for event materials.
●    Local and occasional out-of-state travel for required DFC trainings and conferences.

• Training:
