We are seeking a highly analytical, proactive Market Intelligence Analyst & Writer who combines strong research skills with exceptional professional writing. In this hands-on role, you will conduct primary and secondary research, analyze quantitative and qualitative data, identify market and industry trends, and translate complex findings into evidence-based insights, visualizations, and high-quality reports for clients.

The Market Intelligence Analyst & Writer works under the guidance of the Lead Market Research Analyst & Writer, who provides research and analytical direction, editorial review, mentoring, and quality oversight. 

The role requires regular collaboration with distributed technology teams across multiple time zones, including teams in the United States and India.

Key Responsibilities 

• Conduct comprehensive primary and secondary research on assigned markets, industries, companies, technologies, supply chains, regulations, and economic conditions, monitoring developments that may affect the market outlook. 

• Validate and document quantitative and qualitative data, including source reliability, methodology, limitations, and timeliness. 

• Analyze historical, current, and projected market data to evaluate market size, growth, segmentation, demand, pricing, competition, investment activity, adoption, and the factors driving market change. 

• Distinguish meaningful market signals from temporary fluctuations and translate complex analysis into evidence-based business implications and executive-level insights. 

• Develop and evaluate evidence-based forecasts, scenarios, and long-term outlooks, clearly documenting underlying assumptions, methodologies, limitations, and potential implications. 

• Monitor enacted and proposed legislation, regulations, government programs, tax policies, standards, and regulatory guidance affecting assigned markets. 

• Assess the business and market implications of regulatory developments and incorporate relevant findings, timelines, and insights into reports and forecasts. 

• Transform complex data and analysis into accurate, objective visualizations and compelling written narratives that communicate findings, business implications, and conclusions to executive audiences. 

• Serve as a hands-on leader who conducts research, analysis, and writing while reviewing team deliverables and establishing standards, templates, and best practices that support analytical rigor and publication-ready work. 

• Coach and mentor analysts in research methodology, data analysis, visualization, and professional writing, providing constructive feedback that strengthens executive-level insights and distinguishes facts, assumptions, forecasts, and recommendations. 

• Prioritize research assignments and manage team workloads to meet project requirements and deadlines. 

• Support the hiring, onboarding, training, and professional development of Market Analyst Writers. 

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Data Analytics, Journalism, Communications, Market Research, Social Sciences, or a related field required.  

• 5+ years of professional experience in market research, industry or business analysis, competitive intelligence, economic or financial research, consulting, journalism, or a related field required.  

• Demonstrated ability to independently manage research projects from initial inquiry through analysis and production of professional, client-facing reports. 

• Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis, business writing, and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear insights for executive and business audiences. 

• Strong Excel or equivalent spreadsheet and data-analysis skills, with demonstrated quantitative proficiency. 

• Experience developing professional charts, graphs, tables, and other data visualizations. 

• Strong attention to detail and research integrity, including experience evaluating source credibility, validating findings, and ensuring factual accuracy. 

• Ability to manage multiple research priorities and deadlines effectively. 

• Experience reviewing and strengthening the work of analysts, researchers, writers, or similar professionals. 

• Experience producing professional, client-facing or published research preferred 

• Experience developing market forecasts and scenario analyses preferred 

• Experience conducting primary research through interviews, surveys, and other qualitative or quantitative methods preferred 

• Experience researching and analyzing regulatory and legislative developments preferred 

• Experience using AI-assisted tools for research, data analysis, information synthesis, or content development preferred 

• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar data visualization platforms preferred 

• Experience in a market research, analyst, consulting, investment or economic research, industry publication, or comparable research environment preferred 

• Proficiency with content development or publishing tools, such as InDesign and content management systems preferred 

• High sense of urgency with the ability to meet deadlines and changing priorities.  

• Receptiveness to performance feedback within a team environment is essential.  

• Ability to work onsite in Houston, TX, five days per week.
