The Urban Renewal Authority (“URA”) is tasked to undertake, encourage, promote and facilitate urban renewal of Hong Kong in accordance with the provisions of the Urban Renewal Authority Ordinance and the Urban Renewal Strategy published by the Government. The URA adopts a comprehensive and holistic approach by ways of its two core businesses i.e. redevelopment and rehabilitation, as well as preservation, revitalisation and retrofitting, for creating a sustainable and quality living environment for the people of Hong Kong.
Responsibilities:
- Spearhead strategic district-based studies, Preliminary Project Feasibility Studies (PPFSs), technical feasibility studies and assessments etc. to drive design excellence and develop project reserves for formulation of urban renewal projects
- Procure and administer multidisciplinary external consultants to ensure the rigorous and timely delivery of planning studies, technical assessments, and innovative design options
- Develop comprehensive notional designs and corresponding technical assessments for assigned schemes, as well as design presentations to meet the strategic expectations from internal leadership and external stakeholders
- Liaise proactively with government bureaus and departments, district councils, academics, and professional bodies to champion project objectives, solicit public support and understanding of URA’s objectives
- Prepare high-level technical submissions and deliver compelling presentations to internal committees as well as external audiences through public briefings, workshops or seminars etc. to foster stakeholder engagement and secure public support
Requirements:
- University degree holder in Architecture or related discipline
- Recognized professional qualifications e.g. HKIA, HKIUD, RIBA or equivalent
- Minimum 8 years of post-professional degree experience
- Design-oriented, good communication and presentation skills (verbal, architectural and graphical)
- Experience in working on local and/or overseas area-wide planning/urban design/architectural mixed-use projects with hands-on design input with Revit, Rhino, Sketchup and/ or AI-generative architectural design tools would be an advantage
- Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese
