The Opportunity

Our Facilities Operations & Services team is looking to add a talented professional in Mexico City to lead safe, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective facility and workplace services across our assigned locations in Mexico.

We are seeking a collaborative and results-oriented Manager, Facilities Operations (Mexico) with broad experience in building operations, workplace services, vendor management, health and safety, financial stewardship and project delivery. Reporting to the regional Facilities leadership team, this role works closely with leaders and partners across the business to provide facilities that protect people, support reliable operations and create a positive employee experience.

What you’ll do

• Provide leadership and overall accountability for day-to-day facilities operations and workplace services across assigned locations in Mexico.

• Ensure facilities are operated and maintained safely, reliably, efficiently and in accordance with company requirements, applicable laws, permits and recognized practices.

• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire and life-safety, access, utilities and related infrastructure.

• Establish service strategies, operating procedures, inspection routines, performance measures and escalation protocols that support consistent service delivery.

• Select, onboard, manage and evaluate third-party service providers; administer contracts, statements of work, service level agreements, invoices and corrective actions.

• Partner with Supply Chain and Legal on sourcing, contracting and supplier governance while promoting quality, safety, ethical conduct and value for money.

• Lead annual operating and capital planning, manage budgets and forecasts, approve expenditures within delegated authority and identify sustainable cost optimization opportunities.

• Develop business cases and lead facility renovations, office moves, space changes, lifecycle replacements and infrastructure projects from scope definition through closeout.

• Coordinate workplace planning and space utilization activities to meet evolving business requirements and enhance the employee and visitor experience.

• Ensure compliance with applicable Mexican health, safety, environmental, civil protection, building and accessibility requirements, as well as corporate standards.

• Lead site inspections, risk assessments, audits, incident follow-up and corrective action plans; maintain accurate records and evidence of compliance.

• Own facility emergency preparedness, response and recovery activities and contribute to crisis management and business continuity plans, exercises and lessons learned.

• Build effective relationships with business leaders and partners in Finance, Supply Chain, Security, Real Estate, Information Technology, Human Resources and regional or global Facilities teams.

• Communicate operational risks, service performance, budget status and project progress to stakeholders with clear recommendations and timely escalation.

• Lead, coach and develop employees and contracted resources; set clear expectations and foster accountability, inclusion, safety, service excellence and continuous improvement.

• Identify and implement opportunities to improve energy efficiency, environmental performance, resilience, customer service, processes and data quality.

Expat Housing Management

• Serve as the primary coordinator for expatriate housing operations, ensuring residences are maintained in a safe, compliant and cost-effective manner.

• Coordinate maintenance, repairs, inspections, landlord communications and issue resolution for expatriate residences.

Landlord & Lease Management

• Act as the primary point of contact with landlords and property owners regarding lease agreements, renewals, landlord obligations and operational matters.

• Monitor lease compliance and ensure both parties fulfill contractual obligations and service commitments.

• Support lease negotiations, amendments, dispute resolution and the execution of contractual provisions that protect company interests.

Vendor Performance Management

• Manage and evaluate real estate and workplace service providers (e.g., Colliers and other property management vendors) to ensure contractual obligations, service levels and performance standards are met.

• Conduct periodic vendor performance reviews and implement corrective actions when service levels fall below expectations.

Cost Optimization

• Identify opportunities to optimize occupancy costs, residential lease expenses, operating costs and vendor spend while maintaining service quality.

Insurance & Claims

• Coordinate facility and residential property insurance matters, including damage claims, landlord disputes and remediation activities where applicable.

Governance & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records related to leases, landlord communications, service contracts and vendor performance metrics.

• Prepare periodic reports regarding lease obligations, vendor performance, operating costs and identified risks.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, engineering, architecture, construction management, business administration or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

• Seven or more years of progressive experience in facilities management, building operations, workplace services, property operations or a closely related field.

• Three or more years of experience leading employees, contractors or multidisciplinary service teams.

Demonstrated experience managing operating and capital budgets, forecasts, supplier contracts, service levels and facility or infrastructure projects.

• Practical knowledge of commercial building systems, preventive maintenance, operational risk, emergency preparedness and contractor safety.

• Working knowledge of Mexican requirements applicable to facility operations, workplace health and safety, civil protection and environmental compliance.

• Ability to prioritize competing needs, analyze risk, resolve complex operational issues and make sound decisions in time-sensitive situations.

• Strong project management, negotiation, financial acumen, written communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Professional proficiency in Spanish and English, including the ability to communicate with local and regional stakeholders and review business and technical documents.

Preferred Qualifications

• Facilities Management Professional (FMP), Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Project Management Professional (PMP) or a comparable professional designation.

• Experience overseeing multiple locations or a geographically dispersed facility portfolio.

• Experience in the energy, industrial, infrastructure or another regulated operating environment.

• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems, workplace or space management platforms, and facility performance reporting.

• Knowledge of sustainability, energy management, greenhouse gas reduction, water conservation and waste management practices.

• Experience supporting office consolidations, lease transitions, major renovations or capital lifecycle programs.

This position requires candidates to:

• Have legal authorization to work in Mexico without restrictions.

• Work primarily from the Mexico City office and attend company or service-provider locations as operational needs require.

• Travel within Mexico and, occasionally, internationally for meetings, training, audits, projects or temporary assignments; some travel may include overnight stays.

• Remain available for scheduled on-call coverage and provide emergency facilities support outside regular business hours when required.

• Comply with applicable pre-employment and ongoing background screening requirements.

• Use required personal protective equipment and access operational, mechanical or construction areas when business activities require it.
