What is the opportunity?

Transformation & Enterprise Operations (TEO) employs approximately 1,600 members across Canada, the US, and around the world. TEO is responsible for operating and expanding shared services related to Payments and Trade, Cash Processing, and Finance Shared Services, and is accountable for enhancing RBC's industry-leading position in processing a vast array of cash management, payments, and trade products for clients globally.

Strategic events and engagement initiatives are critical to driving engagement, capability building, and organizational alignment across our distributed workforce. This role is essential to translating TEO's strategic priorities into compelling, engaging experiences that build employee capability and foster organizational cohesion while driving leadership visibility and employee connection.

Reporting to the Director, Strategy, Communications & Operating Office (SCOO), this position is responsible for owning the vision, strategy, and full project execution of signature events, as well as managing a portfolio of strategic events throughout the year. Working collaboratively with the Senior Manager, TEO Communications Strategy and key internal and external partners, this role will ensure all events reflect TEO and SVP priorities, deliver measurable engagement outcomes, and integrate capability-building components that enable TEO employees.

What will you do?

• Own the vision, strategy, and full project plan for TEO’s largest employee engagement events: 2 TEO Town Halls per year and 2 Leadership Summits per year
• Plan and execute strategic employee engagement events such as SVP Roundtables, SVP Centre Visits and TTO Town Halls
• Define strategic approach to event themes, agenda segments, and attendee experience
• Develop creative event concepts, themes, and engagement activations in collaboration with key partners
• Manage all event logistics including: venue selection, contract negotiation, budget creation, vendor management, A/V requirements, speaker coordination, and on-site execution
• Collaborate with internal partners to develop digital and physical creative assets (digital signage, print signage, video production) to support events
• Write video scripts, produce video storyboards, and manage video production and post-production
• Own and execute all event communications campaigns such as save-the-date, invitations, registration, post-event communications
• Work with the Senior Manager, Executive and Group Communications to align on SVP strategic intent and purpose, and to ensure key messages are reinforced throughout the event
• Conduct post-event analysis and reporting on attendance, engagement, and key themes to inform future events
• Own budget development, tracking, and management for all events
• Manage vendor relationships and contracts to ensure quality execution and value
• Manage stakeholder relationships across TEO and external partners to coordinate event planning and execution
• Support additional business engagement initiatives and events as required

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

• 3+ years of experience delivering large, hybrid events and/or business engagement initiatives

• Excellent planning, organization and multi-tasking skills with proven ability to prioritize conflicting demands and identify solutions

• Strong relationship management and verbal/written communication skills with ability to interact effectively with senior management

• Demonstrated project management expertise with ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously

• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to execute flawlessly

• Proven track record of collaboration and working effectively in team environments

• Flexible attitude with ability to pivot and adapt to achieve business outcomes

• Proficiency with MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook), Webex and other video conferencing platforms

Nice to Have

• 5+ years of industry experience in event planning and business engagement

• Knowledge of RBC Connect, Confluence, Jira and RBC Assist

• Undergraduate degree and/or Graduate degree in Event Management, Business Administration, Communications)
