Department Overview
Operation Management Department mission is to promote sustainable growth and value of our organization by enhancing defense functions, such as governance, risk management, compliance, legal affairs, public relation, and so forth.
Commerce Legal Section is responsible for establishing and revising the terms and conditions and guidelines for Rakuten Ichiba, as well as providing document management services, troubleshooting, and other legal-related support services for each business in Commerce & Marketing Company.


・You can acquire knowledge about various products.
As Rakuten Ichiba has more than 300 million products in variety of genres, you can acquire a wide range of knowledge, for example about the licenses or other requirement for the sales of each product.
・You may create or change the sales rules for Rakuten Ichiba, one of the biggest marketplace.

Position Details
Our legal work is characterized by its direct connection to user safety and security, as well as risk management for the company, and is very rewarding and fulfilling.
・Establishment and revision of Rakuten Ichiba guidelines (related to the Act against Specified Commercial Transactions and Trademarks and the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Act, etc.)
・External investigation of various laws and industry rule changes and feedback to business divisions
・Responding in cooperation with government agencies, relevant ministries and agencies, and external organizations

Mandatory Qualifications:
・3 years or more legal work experience
・Strong communication skills with stakeholders
・Critical thinking and problem solving skills
・Writing skills

・PC skills

・Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook
・Native level Japanese language ability

Desired Qualifications:
・Legal work experience in an internet business or law firm
・Practical experience in policy negotiations
・Practical experience in compliance-related work
・Ability to adapt flexibly to changes in the environment
・Practical experience using legal tech
・Legal work experience related to the Travel Industry Act
