Protiviti is looking for a Legal Senior Consultant to join our Investigations, Litigation, and Forensic Services team.



What You Can Expect

As a Senior Consultant, you will lead defined workstreams within fraud, investigations, regulatory enforcement, e-discovery, and forensic matters from planning through delivery. You will coordinate timelines and deliverables, conduct fact-finding and evidence gathering, analyze financial and electronic information, and communicate findings to client stakeholders and internal leadership. You will work under the direction of Managers while taking increasing responsibility for investigative approaches, workstream execution, project monitoring, deliverable quality, and the development of Consultants and Interns.

Do Your Talents Include the Following?

  • Experience with or understanding of:
  • Leading defined workstreams within fraud, investigations, or regulatory enforcement matters from planning through delivery under engagement leadership.
  • Managing client-service workstream activities, timelines, and deliverables across one or more investigations.
  • Conducting fact-finding, evidence gathering, interviews, and financial transaction review to identify potentially irregular activity.
  • Applying forensic accounting, data analytics, e-discovery methods, and digital tools to support case development and analysis.
  • Reviewing records, reports, communications, and documentation to trace funds, test patterns, and connect key findings.
  • Supporting compliance risk assessments and reviews of regulatory requirements in complex environments.
  • Helping develop investigative approaches for matters involving corporate governance, financial records, cybersecurity concerns, or potential misconduct.
  • Analyzing data to identify and investigate discrepancies and performing follow-the-money procedures.
  • Preparing chronologies, workpapers, reports, exhibits, and client-ready presentations.
  • Coaching Consultants and Interns, reviewing work products, and building skills across investigative methods and technical analysis.
  • Communicating findings clearly to client stakeholders, counsel, and internal leadership in written and oral formats.
  • Monitoring assigned scope, budget, progress, risks, and dependencies while adapting to changing case requirements.
  • Working effectively with internal and external counsel, forensic accountants, technology professionals, and other consultants.
  • Evaluating, summarizing, organizing, and interpreting complex information.


Your Educational and Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Preferred fields of study include Accounting, Analytics or Data Science, Business Administration or Management, Computer Science or Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience in forensic accounting, investigations, fraud review, regulatory matters, e-discovery, litigation support, compliance, or related professional services.
  • Experience owning substantial portions of investigative or forensic workstreams,
  • With appropriate oversight from engagement leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience with project planning, execution, deliverable tracking, and monitoring of assigned budgets or workstream economics.
  • Experience applying data analytics, evidence-gathering methods, and digital tools in investigative casework.
  • Demonstrated ability to review junior team members’ work and provide practical coaching.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to distill complex information into clear, supportable findings.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience presenting findings to clients or senior stakeholders. 
  • CPA, CFE, CFF, ACEDS, Relativity, or other relevant certification preferred, but not required.
  • Prior consulting, accounting, legal, regulatory, or professional-services experience preferred.


Our Hybrid Workplace

Protiviti practices a hybrid model, which is a combination of working in person with a purpose and working remotely. This model creates meaningful experiences for our people and our clients while offering a flexible environment. The ratio of remote to in-person requirements vary by client, project, team, and other business factors. Our people work both in-person in local Protiviti offices and on client sites, which can include local or out-of-state travel based on our projects and client requests and commitments.  

Starting salary is based on a full-time equivalent schedule. Placement in the range is dependent upon experience, skills and geographic work location. Below is the salary range for this job.

$88,000.00 - $132,000.00

Our annual bonus plan provides eligible employees additional cash and/or discretionary stock compensation opportunities. Below is the bonus target opportunity for this job.

The total cash range is estimated from the sum of the base salary range plus the bonus target opportunity. Below is the estimated total cash range for this job.

$96,800.00 - $145,200.00

Employees are eligible for medical, dental, and vision coverages, FSA and HSA healthcare accounts, life and accident insurance, adoption and fertility assistance, paid parental leave up to 10 weeks, and short/long term disability. We offer eligible employees a company 401(k) savings and investment plan with an employer match of 50% on the first 6% of your contributions. We provide Choice Time Off (CTO) for vacation, personal needs, and sick time. The amount of (CTO) varies based on years of service. New hires receive up to 20 days of CTO per calendar year. Protiviti also recognizes up to 11 paid holidays each calendar year.
