Job Description:
Lead Hydraulic Modeler
Doha, Qatar
Parsons is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Hydraulic Modeler to join our team in Doha, Qatar. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, modeling, and analysis of surface water hydraulic systems, managing project teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality infrastructure projects.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Undertake model build and calibration of surface water network hydraulic models using a range of modelling software and other tools including spreadsheets and GIS.
- Carry out system performance analysis, development assessment and operational scenario planning using hydraulic models and other tools as required.
- Prepare reporting for modelling projects suitable for review and client presentation.
- Work proactively within the Drainage team to ensure the production of quality deliverables.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, or similar.
- Minimum 13 years of hands-on experience in Hydraulic Modelling for Surface Water Infrastructure projects.
- Skilled in hydraulic model build, verification and calibration using hydraulic modelling tools.
- Experience in the design of surface water network designs for planned layouts and developments.
- Knowledge and understanding of international codes and standards.
- Ability to work well as part of a team or on an individual basis.
- Must be proficient in InfoWorks ICM; Ideal candidate should be an experienced user of ICM 1D/ 2D models.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Good to have software proficiencies: StormCAD, Civil 3D, and similar.
- Experience in GCC or Qatar projects is preferred.
- Chartered (or equivalent) member of a relevant professional institution (ICE, CIWEM, ASCE)
- Can work collaboratively with different team members and across cross-cultural teams.
- Can work independently and/or under minimum supervision.
- Communicate effectively within the team and externally.
- Excellent Knowledge in both theoretical and software domains.
