Quality Engineering - Performance Testing: SDET Job requirements
Experience Range: With at least 4 to 6 years of experience in quality engineering, including hands-on data pipeline, BI, and MDM testing expertise Key Responsibilities: 1. Develop and maintain comprehensive test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test data for data engineering pipelines, Microsoft Fabric workloads, Power BI reports, and MDM solutions 2. Perform source-to-target data validation, record-count checks, aggregate comparisons, null checks, duplicate detection, and business-rule validation to ensure data accuracy and completeness 3. Test Microsoft Fabric pipelines, notebooks, transformations, incremental loads, error handling, and recovery scenarios for functional correctness 4. Validate Power BI reports, semantic models, DAX calculations, filters, drill-through behavior, refreshes, and security configurations 5. Test Profisee MDM functionality, including matching, merging, survivorship, golden records, data quality rules, and stewardship workflows 6. Implement automated testing for data pipelines and reports using SQL, Python, or platform-supported testing capabilities 7. Build reusable test scripts and regression suites to improve test coverage and reduce manual testing effort 8. Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects with reproducible steps, supporting evidence, and clear expected versus actual results 9. Coordinate with developers, business analysts, and technical leads on defect triage, root-cause analysis, retesting, and closure 10. Maintain requirements-to-test traceability and provide test execution summaries, defect metrics, and quality status reports 11. Support UAT by preparing test scenarios, validating fixes, and coordinating business acceptance evidence 12. Contribute to continuous improvement in testing practices, automation coverage, and defect prevention Required Skills: 1. Strong SQL skills for data validation, reconciliation, and investigation 2. Experience testing ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehouses, and data transformations 3. Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Fabric workloads and Power BI report testing 4. Proficiency in automating test scripts and regression suites using Python or similar scripting languages 5. Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps 6. Knowledge of MDM solutions testing, including Profisee or comparable platforms 7. Experience designing test cases, executing regression testing, and preparing test reports Preferred Skills: 1. Experience with cloud-based data platforms and testing environments 2. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for automated testing integration 3. Familiarity with semantic model optimization and DAX performance tuning in Power BI 4. Exposure to Agile methodologies and collaborative testing practices 5. Certification in data quality or BI testing frameworks Desired Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related discipline 2. Certification in software testing or data quality assurance (such as ISTQB Advanced Level Test Analyst or equivalent) 3. Relevant certification in BI platforms (such as Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or similar)
