Scopely is looking for an Lead 2D Artist to join our MONOPOLY GO! Game team in Barcelona hub on a hybrid basis (3X week in office).

What You Will Do 

• Establish and uphold the 2D vision for each season, in close partnership with Content Leadership, Principal Artist and the Art Director.
• Set the bar for quality, technical craft, and AI-assisted workflows, and hold both internal and outsourced artists to it.
• Identifying where Ai assisted workflows create meaningful production value, establishing standards for quality and consistency, and turning successful experimentation into repeatable practices the wider team can adopt.
• Own and continuously improve 2D's art standards and guideline documentation, partnering with Integration and Technical Art on implementation.
• Manage and mentor the discipline, owning performance reviews, goal-setting, and team health.
• Take part in hiring to make sure new hires are the right fit, and champion the team's culture.
• Be the primary point of contact and voice for 2D, coordinating the discipline's work with the rest of production, from planning through delivery.

What We’re Looking For 

• 8+ years experience as a 2D/concept artist working in games, including 3+ years leading, mentoring, and setting the artistic bar for a team.
• Demonstrated experience developing, scaling, and driving adoption of AI-assisted creative workflows, with the judgment to evaluate their impact on quality, consistency, efficiency, and downstream production.
• Track record shipping multiple mobile titles in casual/whimsical art styles, partnering across Design, Engineering, and outsourcing to deliver high-quality content.
• Expert-level 2D illustration and concept skills, including composition, form, and color, backed by mastery of Photoshop and a strong ability to research and reference material that supports idea generation.
• Positive attitude and the ability to give and receive objective feedback.

Bonus Points 

• Experience navigating the brand guidelines and approval pipeline of at least one externally-licensed IP.
• Experience managing or supporting multiple outsourcing partners while holding their output to a consistent quality standard.
• Strong 3D modeling proficiency in Maya, Blender, or equivalent, enabling AI-assisted concept-to-3D-asset workflows.
• A passion for playing and making games.
