A professional responsible for managing the company’s key clients and maintaining strong, long-term business relationships. The role involves understanding client needs, ensuring quality service, addressing concerns, coordinating internally to meet client requirements, and identifying opportunities for business growth and retention.

What does “Key Account Manager” do?

Key Responsibilities: 

• Manage claims for institutional clients by coordinating claim submissions, providing timely client updates, following up on approvals, and facilitating cheque/payment processing.

• Facilitate issuance of performance bonds, PPRs, acknowledgements, and confirmations, ensuring all required documentation, approvals, and client requirements are properly coordinated.

• Handle client servicing and quotations by managing renewals, preparing and following up on quotations, addressing client queries, and coordinating with brokers and institutional clients.

• Manage motor and non-motor insurance portfolios, including Fire and Miscellaneous insurance, by handling client requests, coordinating documentation, and ensuring timely resolution of service requirements.

• Maintain accurate client records and MIS, including policy, claims, and account-related information, while keeping stakeholder and client contact details updated.

• Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure smooth processing of client requirements, timely resolution of issues, and effective delivery of services.

• Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding key account requirements, providing responsive support, and ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.

What are we looking for and what does it require to be “Key Account Manager”?

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in institutional sales or client servicing in insurance.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution.

• Strong understanding of insurance and health claims processes.

• Excellent communication and coordination skills with clients and internal teams.

• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple portfolios simultaneously.
