We are looking for an experienced and commercially driven International Business Development professional with deep expertise in the CMO/CDMO pharmaceutical industry to lead global business development initiatives and expand international partnerships.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in CMO Business Development, with substantial exposure to Softgel and Oral Solid Dosage (OSD) manufacturing and pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing services. The role will focus on identifying new international opportunities, developing strategic client relationships, driving commercial discussions, and converting qualified opportunities into long-term business partnerships.
You will work with pharmaceutical companies, biotech organisations, distributors, and other healthcare stakeholders across international markets, representing manufacturing capabilities and translating customer requirements into commercially viable opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead international CMO/CDMO business development initiatives across identified pharmaceutical markets.
- Develop and execute strategies for acquiring new international customers and expanding existing accounts.
- Identify and qualify opportunities for Softgel, OSD, and other pharmaceutical contract manufacturing services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, distributors, and strategic partners.
- Engage with senior decision-makers including CMOs, procurement leaders, business heads, technical teams, and supply-chain stakeholders.
- Develop a robust international business development pipeline and manage opportunities from lead generation through closure.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging outsourcing trends, customer requirements, competitors, and potential markets.
- Understand customer product requirements and coordinate with technical teams to develop appropriate manufacturing solutions.
- Prepare commercial proposals, capability presentations, quotations, and business cases.
- Lead commercial negotiations, pricing discussions, contract terms, and partnership development.
- Coordinate with internal Manufacturing, R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Finance teams to progress opportunities.
- Support technology-transfer, product-development, onboarding, and commercialisation discussions where required.
- Develop strategic accounts and identify opportunities for cross-selling and long-term business expansion.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, opportunity pipelines, customer records, and business development reports.
- Represent the organisation at international pharmaceutical conferences, exhibitions, customer meetings, and industry forums.
- Monitor market developments and provide insights to senior leadership to support international growth strategies.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- 14+ years of experience in international pharmaceutical business development, preferably within CMO/CDMOenvironments.
- Strong and proven experience in CMO Business Development and international customer acquisition.
- Deep understanding of pharmaceutical contract manufacturing and outsourcing models.
- Strong exposure to Softgel and OSD manufacturing and related pharmaceutical products.
- Established relationships with international pharmaceutical companies, biotech organisations, distributors, or strategic partners.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage high-value international business pipelines and close complex commercial opportunities.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing, product development, technology transfer, and regulatory considerations.
- Excellent commercial negotiation, account management, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to engage confidently with senior decision-makers and technical stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of international pharmaceutical markets, customer needs, and competitive dynamics.
- Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and business-development skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage complex opportunities from initial contact through commercial closure.
- Willingness to travel internationally for customer meetings, conferences, exhibitions, and business development activities.
