We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented student to join our tax team as a Tax Intern. This eight-month internship offers hands-on exposure to Canadian, U.S., and international tax matters in a collaborative professional environment. It will run from January 2027-August 2027.

The Tax Intern will report to the Senior Tax Manager and support the team across a range of tax compliance, reporting, research, and administrative functions, including:

• Prepare T2 Canadian federal and provincial corporate income tax returns for tax-exempt and taxable entities
• Prepare T3 Trust Income Tax and Information Returns for Canadian trusts
• Assist with T5013 Partnership Information Returns and Statements of Partnership Income
• Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly GST/HST reconciliations and returns
• Assist with preparing responses to inquiries from tax authorities
• Assist with reviewing and analyzing U.S. and foreign tax documents, including Schedules K-1 and K-3 and Forms 1042-S, 8804, and 8805
• Assist with tax know-your-client requests, including FATCA withholding tax reporting and self-certification documentation
• Assist with updating and preparing tax memoranda
• Assist with preparing foreign withholding tax reclaim applications
• Assist with pre-tax-season activities, including gathering and reviewing financial information, preparing tax compliance lists, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders
• Assist with post-tax-season projects, including reviewing and filing notices of assessment and updating tax trackers
• Collect, organize, and validate tax information provided by internal and external clients
• Conduct research on a variety of tax issues
• Support other tax-related ad hoc projects

Requirements

• Experience preparing tax returns, including T2, T3, and T5013 returns, is an asset
• Experience with CCH iFirm and/or Taxprep is an asset

The base salary range for this position is CAD $45,000 to $65,000. The placement within the range is determined by the role and assessment of the candidate’s year of study and relevant work experience.
