What You'll Do
In this role, you'll develop instrumentation and controls solutions for capital projects in the food and beverage, consumer health, life sciences, and advanced technology sectors. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, system integrators, contractors, and client representatives to translate process requirements into safe, reliable, and optimized control system designs. This position plays an important role in project delivery from preliminary design through installation and start-up, giving you the opportunity to influence system architecture, equipment performance, and manufacturing operations.
- Develop instrumentation and control system designs for industrial manufacturing and process environments
- Engineer PLC and SCADA interface solutions that support safety, reliability, and optimization requirements
- Lead instrumentation and controls design and estimating during preliminary and detailed project phases
- Perform facility and system job walks to assess existing conditions, define scope, and identify constraints
- Develop engineering solutions that improve equipment and process performance
- Design monitoring and control systems for pressure, temperature, humidity, flow, and other process variables
- Perform root cause failure analyses and recommend corrective actions
- Document process and functional requirements for instrumentation, controls, and related equipment
- Develop system architecture, instrumentation selections, I/O requirements, P&IDs, data sheets, and network documentation
- Coordinate design activities with engineering teams, contractors, system integrators, and client representatives
What You'll Bring
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering; a degree emphasizing process control and instrumentation; or equivalent relevant experience
- 3+ years of experience leading instrumentation and controls design and estimating for capital projects
- Experience with Rockwell Automation hardware and software and PLC, I/O, SCADA, networking, instrumentation, P&ID, and data sheet development
- Experience supporting multidisciplinary industrial capital projects involving owners, contractors, system integrators, and mechanical, electrical, and process teams
- Ability to travel for installation, start-up, client meetings, training, and industry events
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer license or Engineer-in-Training certification
- Experience with dry and wet mechanical systems, gas and chemical distribution, HVAC, or clean room environmental controls
Compensation
The approximate pay range for this position is $100,000-$155,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as geographic location of the position.
