ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Check and log cover molding quality in cover and mantle molding.
- Follow standard work related to quality checks in cover and mantle molding.
- Assist and follow standard work on IM compounding operation.
- Assist and follow standard work running X-rays and supporting operations.
- Assist and follow standard work running mantle dip operations.
- Assist and follow standard work measuring production in the x-ray and MC-50 rooms.
- Assist and follow standard work in weighing and grinding runners.
- Follow standard work degating and sort of scrap in mantle molding, Nissei and MC-50 rooms.
- Assist in Material Service in all molding areas.
- Participate in continuous improvement to maximize productivity and obtain the best quality and rate of operations.
- Maintain equipment and room cleanliness.
- Work in a safe manner following all PPE and standardized processes in all areas.
- Preform all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Ability to solve problems independently
- Ability to make decisions independently
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to read and write through various means of communication
- Understanding of mechanical concepts related to manufacturing
- Basic understanding of math concepts
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be able to read, write and understand English
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT (if applicable)
- Frequent standing and walking for long periods of time
- Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling
- Infrequent reaching into and working in confined spaces, including machinery
- Use of hand dexterity to position mantles in manual degaters
- Depth perception in vision to inspect molded balls
- The work environment gets extremely hot in some areas during the summer months
- The work environment can be very loud
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. infrequently
- Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
