Responsibilities
- Performs and oversees civil engineering work, focused on site design components including site layout, yard piping, paving and grading, and stormwater infrastructure
- Performs and conceptual and preliminary design activities including site visits, fieldwork, alternatives analysis, and report preparation
- Completes detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications for site civil aspects of residential or commercial sites
- Conducts stormwater hydraulic calculations and/or modeling and incorporates into the site civil design
- Prepares and reviews technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables
- Reviews contractor submittals for conformance with contract drawings and specifications
- Provides, and coordinates engineering services during construction
- Serves as civil engineer for large multi-discipline projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil/site development, stormwater, and permitting
- Registration as a Professional Engineer or EIT Desired
- Ability to develop and oversee drawings for civil plans (site layout, piping, grading, drainage, and paving) from sketches
- Experience with the planning and design of layout and site design projects
- Experience with site development requirements and permitting; experience with environmental resource permits
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team
- Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of Civil 3D and at least 2 years' experience with ICPR
