eBay is seeking a Greater China Investigations Lead to join our Ethics & Compliance team. This position will be based in our Shanghai, China office and will report to the APAC Ethics Lead. This role is primarily responsible for Ethics investigations, including ensuring all processes align with eBay’s internal standards for objectivity, integrity, and confidentiality.

This role will also help implement, monitor, and enhance our global ethics and compliance program in eBay’s Greater China locations.

What you will accomplish:

• Conduct internal investigations into suspected or alleged misconduct in the Greater China region, including developing investigation plans, gathering evidence, reviewing documentation (emails, messages, logs) and documenting findings.

• Perform data extraction and analysis to identify trends and support fact-based conclusions by interviewing witnesses and subjects as needed. Identify remedial measures to address any control gaps.

• Collaborate with the People Experience, Legal and Security teams to support effective and efficient investigation workflow.

• Assist with root cause analysis documentation and tracking of remediation steps.

• Ensure all investigative activities strictly adhere to eBay’s investigations protocols, including confidentiality and non-retaliation.

• Collaborate with the APAC Ethics Lead to develop and implement regional training and communications on Ethics & Compliance topics.

• Help to promote a “speak up” culture within the employee population in the Greater China region.

• Build and maintain periodic reports on ethics program data. 

What you will bring:

• 5+ years of Investigations/Ethics & Compliance experience, or experience in a related control function such as Legal, Finance, or Audit.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and maintain high attention to detail.

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively; fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English is required.

• Experience leading internal investigations.

• Demonstrated commitment to ethics, integrity, and maintaining confidentiality.

• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI-powered investigative and analytics tools to identify patterns, prioritize leads, and enhance case management, while applying sound judgment to validate outputs, mitigate bias, and maintain confidentiality and ethical standards. 

• Experience and expertise with MS Office, G Suite, and Salesforce.

• Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree in law, finance, or a related field preferred.
