As a Global Data Protection Counsel, you will support Ingram Micro’s Data Privacy function by helping ensure that personal data is handled responsibly and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This is a hands-on role where you will work with stakeholders across Legal, Information Security, HR, Operations and other business functions, supporting both day-to-day privacy activities and the continued development of our global data protection program.

As a Global Data Protection Counsel you will be:

• Providing legal guidance to internal stakeholders on data protection and privacy requirements, legislation and regulatory developments;

• Keeping up to date with developments in data protection and privacy laws, practices and regulatory requirements;

• Drafting, reviewing and amending contracts, privacy and data protection terms and conditions, as well as other legal documents related to vendors, employees, customers and service providers;

• Reviewing Privacy Impact Assessments and advising on data protection requirements for new projects, working closely with project managers, relevant business teams and Information Security;

• Supporting the implementation of data protection policies, procedures and related processes;

• Preparing and delivering privacy and data protection training for Legal and other employees across the organization;

• Supporting the compliance of the company's cross-border data transfer mechanisms;

• Supporting data protection activities related to vendor due diligence in collaboration with Information Security and Compliance teams;

• Conducting assessments related to the company's data protection and privacy program and identifying areas for improvement;

• Collaborating with Legal, Information Security, HR, Operations and other departments on cross-functional projects and activities;

• Managing multiple priorities and providing practical solutions to data protection challenges in a dynamic, global business environment.

What you'll bring:

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience, including experience in one or more of the following areas: legal practice, information technology, information security, privacy or data protection;

• Fluent English

• A Master’s Degree in Law, obtained in an EU member state, together with full legal capacity to practice law;

• Experience drafting, reviewing and amending contracts and other legal documents, combined with strong analytical and problem-solving skills;

• General knowledge of data protection and privacy laws and regulations, the IT industry and risk management concepts;

• Experience with, or exposure to, global data protection frameworks and compliance requirements, with the ability to quickly develop knowledge in new areas;

• A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to help shape and develop processes in a growing function;

• Ability to work independently, learn quickly and collaborate with stakeholders across multiple departments, business units and countries;

• A practical, solution-oriented approach and willingness to tackle complex data protection challenges;

• Understanding of technology platforms and data flows, including cloud services, would be an advantage;

• Strong attention to detail and ability to quickly adapt to new environments and teams;

• Relevant privacy certifications, such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US or CIPM are considered an advantage;

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt your communication style to different internal and external audiences;
