1The Team Leader for US Offshore Property Accounting is responsible for leading a centralized team that supports Property Accounting activities for Chevron's US Offshore organization. This role drives operational excellence through process standardization, financial stewardship, strong internal controls, and continuous improvement initiatives.The position partners closely with Operations, Project Management, Controllers, Finance, and other business stakeholders to ensure accurate accounting and reporting of capital investments, fixed assets, depreciation, asset retirements, and related close activities. The Team Leader is expected to develop team capabilities, drive efficiencies through automation and digital solutions, and provide insights that support effective business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of Property Accounting professionals supporting US Offshore operations.
- Ensure accurate and timely accounting for capital expenditures, asset additions, transfers, retirements, impairments, and depreciation activities.
- Coordinate and oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Maintain compliance with Chevron accounting policies, SOX controls, and financial reporting requirements.
- Drive process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives across Property Accounting activities.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, Controllers, and Finance organizations to resolve complex accounting matters.
- Ensure timely completion of account reconciliations and resolution of outstanding items.
- Support business initiatives, acquisitions, integrations, and organizational changes impacting Property Accounting processes.
- Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and control effectiveness.
- Provide leadership in internal and external audit support activities.
- Develop team members through coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience managing teams and complex accounting processes.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience with SAP and/or S/4HANA environments.
- Knowledge of SOX compliance and control requirements.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
Language Requirements
- Advanced English proficiency, including verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Upstream Oil & Gas operations.
- Experience in Property Accounting, Fixed Assets, Capital Projects, or Upstream Finance operations.
- Experience leading process improvement, transformation, or automation initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience working in a shared services or global support environment.

This position plays a critical leadership role in supporting the US Offshore organization by ensuring financial stewardship, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across Property Accounting processes.
