About the Opportunity

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Fire Suppression Technician to join our team in Virginia.

Reporting to the Supply and Assembly Supervisor - Fire Suppression, you will undertake a broad range of manufacturing and assembly activities to build fire suppression systems and components. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality products that support customer safety and operational excellence. 

Responsibilities

• Prepare and complete assembly orders in accordance with work orders.
• Assemble and test fire suppression systems and system components.
• Pick and pack installation kits to support customer requirements.
• Complete and close out work orders within the ERP system.
• Monitor and provide feedback on manufacturing inventory levels, particularly for common assemblies.
• Safely operate forklifts, vacuum lifting devices and other manual handling equipment.
• Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures and Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team to achieve customer and operational outcomes. 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Experience within a manufacturing, assembly or warehouse environment.
• Familiarity with modern manufacturing processes.
• A current Driver's Licence and Forklift Licence.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality work.
• Sound computer skills and confidence using workplace systems.
• Good manual dexterity and physical fitness.
• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• A positive, proactive attitude with a focus on customer satisfaction and achieving team objectives.
• The ability to adapt to customer requirements, procedures and safety standards.
