As part of its development Volton strengthens its human resources in Athens and seeks a Financial Controller.
As Financial Controller, you will support the Group Controller by preparing accurate financial analysis, reporting key performance and financial data. You will play an important role in strengthening financial controls, improving reporting quality, supporting budget development and corrective actions, and contributing to short- and long-term operational planning. The position reports to the Group Controller.
Responsibilities
- Document, monitor and update accounting policies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing systems
- Laise with external audits
- Contribute to the implementation of consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all departments, adhering to national and local legal standards
- Assist in the maintenance of internal safeguards for revenue receipts, costs, organizational budgets and actual expenditures
- Report on financial status on a regular basis and create ad-hoc reports when needed
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows
- Coordinate effectively with the accounting department regarding data accuracy and in the development of ad hoc projects
- Build risk assessment models to evaluate investments
Requirements
- At least 5-7 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial controlling, reporting, budgeting, or financial analysis
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Professional certification, such as ACCA or CFA, will be considered an asset
- Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial planning processes
- Very good knowledge of IFRS, Greek tax regulations, and statutory compliance reporting requirements
- Strong understanding of business processes, financial data analysis, and performance reporting
- Advanced MS Excel skills and very good knowledge of MS Office; experience with ERP systems or BI/reporting tools
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
