Our client is a privately held owner and operator of residential land-lease communities with properties across the Mid-Atlantic region. The business focuses on disciplined property operations, portfolio growth, and maintaining well-managed residential communities.
The organization is looking for an experienced Finance & Reporting Manager to oversee financial reporting and provide stronger visibility into property-level and portfolio performance.
This role combines accounting oversight with practical financial analysis. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and operational teams to improve reporting, support budgeting, monitor financial performance, and strengthen financial controls as the portfolio expands.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly financial reporting for individual communities and the broader property portfolio.
- Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes in partnership with operational leadership.
- Analyze property revenue, operating expenses, occupancy trends, capital spending, and financial variances.
- Develop management reports that provide leadership with clear insight into operating performance.
- Oversee general ledger accuracy, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end closing activities.
- Support cash flow planning and monitor financial performance against approved budgets.
- Partner with community management teams to investigate material financial variances.
- Assist leadership with financial analysis related to acquisitions, capital improvements, and operational initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial controls, reporting processes, and accounting workflows.
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, lenders, and other financial partners when required.

- Limited travel may be required for property reviews or meetings.
- This position has regular interaction with executive and operational leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of accounting, financial reporting, or financial management experience.
- Strong knowledge of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with accounting or ERP systems.
- Ability to translate financial information into practical recommendations for operational leaders.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Experience managing multiple entities, business units, or operating locations.
Preferred - Experience within real estate, property management, manufactured housing, multifamily housing, or another asset-based business.
- CPA, CMA, or relevant postgraduate qualification.
- Experience with property-level reporting and portfolio financial analysis.
