Role Overview
The Finance Analyst, Broker Compensation will be part of the Business Unit Control team, supporting the end-to-end delivery of broker compensation processes across the business. The role is responsible for assisting with the calculation, accounting, reporting, and payment of broker compensation, including bonus and deferred equity arrangements.
Working closely with Finance, Payroll, HR, and business stakeholders, the successful candidate will help ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of compensation-related activities, while supporting balance sheet substantiation, financial controls, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Role Responsibilities
Support the delivery of broker compensation processes, including bonus accruals, calculations, and payment activities.
Prepare and maintain supporting schedules, reconciliations, and working papers to ensure accurate accounting and financial reporting.
Validate compensation data and coordinate payroll submissions, ensuring completeness and accuracy of information.
Assist in the calculation and administration of broker equity deferral schemes and related reporting requirements.
Perform reconciliations and investigate discrepancies, ensuring supporting data is accurately aligned to source systems.
Contribute to balance sheet substantiation activities and support the maintenance of a robust control environment.
Prepare data and supporting analysis for management reporting, forecasting activities, internal audits, and external audit requests.
Escalate data quality issues, control exceptions, or process risks in a timely manner and support their resolution.
Maintain process documentation, operational procedures, and governance trackers to ensure consistency and compliance.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and reporting efficiency through data analysis and automation.
Collaborate effectively with Finance, Payroll, HR, and other key stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of compensation cycles and reporting deadlines.
Experience / Competencies
Essential
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
Minimum two years' experience within Finance, Accounting, Compensation, Payroll, or a related analytical environment.
Understanding of fundamental accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial controls.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation, analysis, and reporting.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with stakeholders.
A proactive and collaborative approach with a willingness to learn and develop.
Desired
Progression towards a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
Experience working with compensation, bonus, payroll, or incentive-related processes.
Exposure to financial services or a regulated corporate environment.
Experience using financial, HR, or payroll systems.
Knowledge of process improvement methodologies, automation tools, or data analysis techniques.
