The position is responsible for performing complex balance sheet reconciliation activities for assigned in-scope accounts of SLOCPI, SLGFI, SLFPI, SLAMCI, SLIMTC, Prosperity Funds and HoldCo. This includes identifying and resolving accounting and internal control issues arising from business activities and process changes. The role requires a thorough understanding of end-to-end business processes to ensure that appropriate internal controls are designed and operating effectively, and that transactions are recorded in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. The position ensures the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial information through detailed monthly reconciliation analysis and the preparation of comprehensive reconciliation reports. In partnership with management, the role supports the identification, assessment, and resolution of control issues, and actively participates in the development and implementation of corrective actions and new or enhanced procedures to strengthen the overall control environment.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
At least 2–3 years of experience in General Accounting. · Minimum of 1 year of experience in Accounts Reconciliation, preferably within a regulated financial services environment.
Technical Skills
·Working knowledge of audit requirements, internal controls, and system-based control environments. · Foundational understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), including Canadian, US, and Philippine standards, as well as applicable local tax rules and regulatory requirements.
Familiarity with SAP General Ledger and related feeder systems is preferred, including but not limited to PAM, Ingenium, FIS, GIS, Fixed Asset System, IPAC and AGIS.
Demonstrated business acumen in life insurance, pre-need, and wealth management operations. · Exposure to multiple finance functions such as Cash Management, Banking, Portfolio Management, Agency Payroll, Budgeting, Financial Reporting, and Financial Analysis.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis and reporting tools.

Responsibilities
Prepares monthly balance sheet account reconciliations for assigned accounts in accordance with Local and Global Accounts Reconciliation Guidelines and Standards, ensuring accuracy and completeness of balances prior to submission.
Identifies reconciling items and potential issues, coordinates with relevant units to resolve variances, and escalates complex or aged items to the Manager in a timely manner.
Provides accurate financial support schedules and reports for management, internal and external auditors, and regulators, including aging reports, fixed asset schedules, and supporting worksheets for statutory and management reporting. ·
Supports process improvement initiatives by participating in system enhancements and finance projects, including requirements gathering, user testing, and implementation activities.
Develops a solid understanding of end‑to‑end business processes related to assigned accounts and assists in documenting procedures and control activities. ·
Complies with established internal controls and actively contributes to risk identification and control effectiveness within assigned scope.
