Job Summary
Responsible for strategic planning and implementation of programming and operation of the Esperanza Senior Center and the Esperanza Aquatic Fitness Center and performs essential functions as county resource for health and wellness activities and concerns related to senior residents living within Fort Bend County. Participates in planning of programs, policies or objectives for the department.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for strategic planning and implementation of programming and operations of the Esperanza Fitness Center and the Esperanza Aquatic Fitness Center.
- Collaborates with internal and external partners on planning and implantation of programs.
- Develops outreach activities and partners with other non-profits for outreach and is a speaker and presenter throughout the community to advocate and to inform about issues related to healthy aging.
- Prepares yearly budget requests and tracts budget expenditures.
- Oversees maintenance of the Esperanza Center and Aquatic Center.
- Assists employees with duties and recommends disciplinary action as needed.
- Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state disaster as directed by appropriate county measures.
- Obtains supplemental program funding through grant writing and other fundraising efforts.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5 years of job related experience in a similar customer service supervisory role.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Good computer and typing skills; strong Windows, Word and Excel skills. Good verbal and written communication skills; good interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees, and elected officials and outside agencies. Ability to complete assigned projects in a timely manner; strong organizational skills; accounting/bookkeeping skills preferred.
SALARY: 36.13 - 45.17 / USD Hourly
