​Job Title: Exercise Sciences-Health Across the Lifespan Initiative (HALI) Research Director– CFS Professorial Faculty

Position Start Date: August 15, 2027

Required Degree:  PhD - earned doctoral degree in Exercise Sciences or a related discipline related to human health and wellness (e.g., Exercise Sciences). The required degree must be completed by the start date.

Experience: 

• Experience teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in at least one of the following areas: Research Methods and Evidence-based Practices, Exercise is Medicine, Exercise Across the Lifespan, Sport & Data Science, Aging.
• Evidence of effective undergraduate and graduate mentoring.
• Evidence of seeking external funding.
• Evidence of organizing collaborative groups.
   

Duties/Expectations: 

• Develop a research program that leverages large data sets produced through the Health Across the Lifespan Institute (HALI), which includes the Strong Youth Project (SYP), BYUMove!, YBeFit, and BYU Gerontology/Huntsman World Senior Games. 
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in at least one of the following areas: Research Methods and Evidence-based Practices, Exercise is Medicine, Exercise Across the Lifespan, Sport & Data Science, Aging.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students within the HALI Research Program. 
• Organize the HALI Research Program to coordinate all faculty and students involved with the HALI to maximize research outcomes from the program.
• Seek external funding to support research within the HALI.
