Job's mission

We are seeking a skilled Engineer II, Electrical Engineering to support the electrical design, integration, qualification, and continuous improvement of process modules used in advanced semiconductor equipment. This role is responsible for developing safe, reliable, and manufacturable electrical solutions for process-module subsystems, including power distribution, controls, sensors, interlocks, safety circuits, cable assemblies, and system-level interfaces. The engineer will work closely with mechanical, process, controls, software, manufacturing, supply chain, and service teams to deliver robust module architectures that meet performance, safety, compliance, and productization requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Own the electrical design of process-module subsystems from concept through release, including schematics, cable drawings, wiring diagrams, interconnects, power distribution, sensors, heaters, actuators, safety circuits, and control interfaces.
  • Translate process, system, safety, serviceability, and manufacturability requirements into electrical design solutions that support reliable tool operation.
  • Collaborate with mechanical, process, controls, software, safety, manufacturing, service, and supply chain teams to develop integrated process-module architectures.
  • Select and qualify electrical components based on performance, safety, reliability, availability, environmental conditions, and lifecycle considerations.
  • Design and review safety-related electrical systems, including interlocks, emergency-off circuits, protective devices, grounding, bonding, and safety-rated components.
  • Develop, review, and release engineering documentation, including schematics, cable assemblies, bills of materials, design specifications, test plans, and ECO packages.
  • Support prototype builds, system integration, design verification, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions for electrical issues found during development, qualification, manufacturing, or field escalation.
  • Work closely with designers and drafters to ensure electrical documentation is accurate, complete, and aligned with company standards and release processes.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, failure analysis, and continuous improvement activities to improve module reliability, safety, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Maintain strong ownership of assigned tasks, manage priorities effectively, and communicate technical status, risks, and recommendations clearly to project stakeholders.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Experience designing and troubleshooting electrical systems for complex electromechanical equipment, preferably in semiconductor, vacuum, automation, industrial, or capital-equipment environments.
  • Strong understanding of electrical circuit design, power distribution, grounding, shielding, signal integrity, sensors, actuators, safety circuits, and cable assembly design.
  • Proficiency with electrical CAD tools for schematic capture and cable or harness design; AutoCAD Electrical or similar tools preferred.
  • Experience with component selection, design verification, prototype bring-up, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
  • Working knowledge of applicable electrical safety and machinery standards such as NEC, NFPA 79, UL 508A, FM 4910, ISO 13849, EN/IEC 60204-1, EN/IEC 60204-33, and relevant SEMI standards is preferred.
  • Ability to create clear technical documentation, including specifications, test plans, design notes, ECO packages, and release documentation.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, service, and quality teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently, drive closure on technical issues, and make sound engineering decisions in a fast-paced product-development environment.
  • Familiarity with process-module hardware, pneumatics, PCB interfaces, embedded controls, PLC-based systems, or semiconductor equipment architecture is a plus.
