Responsible for performing the day-to-day activities of the Dispatch Department in accordance with current federal, state/provincial, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing this facility, and as may be directed by the Dispatch Manager to assure that the Dispatch Department is run in a safe, efficient, and proper manner.What are your responsibilities as a Dispatch Supervisor?
Supervise all dispatch and delivery personnel, and assign tasks, and duties daily; i.e.
Enforce and coach personnel in the safe work practices and requirements to ensure a safe and hazard-free workplace and monitor on-the-job training to ensure employees gain the skills necessary to perform their assigned jobs.
Schedule drivers on routes daily.
Communicate with external customers and provide a high quality service.
Assist with the management of personnel which may include interviewing, hiring, performance evaluations, terminations, disciplinary action, etc.
Handle any issues with pick tickets (RCE, PLRC) or parts that did not get delivered on time.
Responsibilities can include those duties aligned with deliveries.
Assumes other duties as assigned.
What is the profile we are looking for?
Minimum of 3 + years of dispatching experience,
Experience on the road is a preferred skill.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret graphs.
Frequent use of Outlook, Word, Excel, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate functions into Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, databases, and Powerpoint presentations to support business objectives.
Proficiency and experience using a computer and various computer programs, and
Adhere to a safe work environment, display a positive and helpful demeanor, and a commitment to providing the best in customer service.
Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment: This position requires individuals to constantly be on their feet expect when operating machinery. Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours. Is subject to frequent interruptions. Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and withstand heights of 15-35 feet. Must be able to lift at least 50-75 lbs.
Working Conditions: Employees are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to cold & heat. The noise level is moderately loud.
