Assist the Partner Mozambique in accountable and responsible management of Control Risks operations within Mozambique.
Role Task and Responsibilities:
Assist the management of the Mozambique region; direct, shape and promote Control Risks in this region;
Provide Mozambique staff with clear, ethical and moral leadership.
Assist Partner Mozambique and Control Risks Mozambique with the development of products and services to better serve the client base.
Assist Partner Mozambique with the development and maintenance of the regional Business Development Plan with the aim of proactively seeking and winning new business in the Cabo Delgado.
Actively review the political, sociological, technological, economic and natural forces that influence the market in Cabo Delgado.
Consistently aim to improve existing process and procedures and drive through innovative and progressive change to meet the needs of a shifting commercial and operational marketplace.
Assist and, where required, action the establishment and planning of start-up operations in the region.
Complete and assist with the writing of technical proposals
Monitor measures and mechanisms to ensure Quality Assurance and Quality Control across Control Risks Operations and services to clients.
Retain and develop staff, procedures, infrastructure, equipment and personnel, rendering high quality services to existing clients and identified new clients.
Personnel management of the Mozambique team including performance reviews and management of the Cabo Delgado operational teams.
Develop the capability via management of local national employees to fulfil roles independently, or with minimal expatriate supervision.
Liaison with the HR in Dubai to fill positions and maintain a pipeline of available qualified personnel.
Day to day management of Cabo Delgado locations, including the recruitment of staff, client relations, client engagements, sales and marketing efforts and associated personnel, financial and administrative activities.
Input into the compilation and control of the Mozambique budget across all Cabo Delgado contracts. This includes annual revenue targets, recoverable, expenditure, development and capital budget.
Input into the on-going monthly monitoring and analytical reporting of the operation’s performance against budget including provision of data required for the monthly management report.
Manage the engagement and dismissal of operational staff. staff decisions follow discussions with SP – HRPS
Ensure compliance with Mozambique laws and compliance with all Control Risks policies, ethics and ethos.
Ensure all support contracts are effectively managed
Assist with ensuring that Control Risks Mozambique employees stay within the framework of Standard Operating Procedures, code of ethics and other statutory directives.
Ensure compliance with deliverables specified in client contracts.
Provide assistance and support to Partner Mozambique
Deputise when the Partner Mozambique is out of location.
Deliver routine reports as necessary.
Oversee functional areas within Mozambique; logistics, fleet, training, security documentation and communications.
Deliver bespoke support to project design and delivery as requested.
Lead on the production of specific site surveys and visit reports.
Assist with the direction and management of operations within Control Risks accepted standards and risk tolerances
Ensure all operations are threat lead and properly equipped to support their missions.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for the region.
Ensure Crisis management / response plans are in place and practiced.
Ensure SOPs are in place current and actioned
Continuously develop new operational techniques and standards commensurate with client requirements and the prevailing threat.
Requirements
Knowledge and Experience:
Essential
Experience in operational risk management
Experience in physical and personnel security
Experience in Business Management and running a Profit and Loss account
Previous experience in a hostile environment such as Iraq or Afghanistan
Previous commercial security experience
As part of flexible commercial team, a willingness to take on tasks that fall outside your core competence
Planning and project management
Knowledge of African culture
Military or other Government experience
Deployment and management of commercial security solutions in Africa
Preferred
Previous Business Development experience
Project Management experience
Oil and Gas project related experience
Qualifications and specialist skills:

Fluent written and spoken English
Commercial security consulting experience

Security and Risk Management qualifications
Business development experience
Operational command at sub-unit level or equivalent in the military
Knowledge and/or willingness to learn Portuguese
