Position Description:

The Director of MQ Learning & Development (L&D) shapes and implements the strategic vision and roadmap for global MQ learning processes, resources and initiatives to create a universal approach for manufacturing and quality to accelerate business performance and enable operational excellence. This is achieved through direct organizational leadership of MQ L&D resources within the network and partnership with business partners.

This Biotech network role drives innovation, governance, and learning process transformation across the respective network sites in harmonization with the global MQ sites and functions - ensuring our people are prepared to deliver reliable supply to customers with integrity and excellence.

Your Responsibilities: 

• MQ Learning Leadership: Lead the network transformation journey to implement a unified learning strategy that balances regulatory compliance, process optimization, learner realities, and continuous capability growth. Provide direct leadership and oversight to MQ L&D resources within the network.
• Strategic Execution: Translate business goals and site requirements into scalable learning solutions. Partner with MQ L&D leadership to drive transformation of MQ’s learning ecosystem—enhancing digital delivery, learner experience, and global scalability.
• Learning Experience & Instructional Design: Define design principles for effective and compliant learning experiences across multiple modalities (live, virtual, on-demand, and blended). Utilize adult learning and behavioral science to ensure impact and engagement.
• Technology, Innovation & AI: Deliver digital innovation across the learning ecosystem, optimizing use of the LMS and emerging tools like AI, VR/AR, and adaptive learning platforms. Champion the ethical use of AI in learning.
• Data, Analytics & Impact Measurement: Establish clear metrics and KPIs tied to manufacturing objectives. Utilize dashboards to monitor effectiveness and inform business decisions at site, network, and global levels.

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications): 

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field.
• Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing site roles, including 4+ years of direct management experience.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of global industry regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA, EU GMP); proven success in leading learning initiatives in a manufacturing environment and supervising teams in a virtual setting; fluent in English (speaking/writing) with the ability to influence and partner effectively across functions and leadership levels; and skilled facilitator/coach with experience developing or delivering leadership training.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications): 

• Certifications: Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification; Adult Learning Theory certification.
• Industry Expertise: Experience leading training programs within matrixed life sciences organizations.
• Technical Proficiency: Expertise in digital learning design, AI-powered platforms, performance analytics, and LMS administration.
• Tools: Proficiency in content authoring tools and multimedia design.
