The Director, International Tax will lead Vinmar's international tax function and serve as a primary advisor on international tax matters affecting the Company's global operations. The role is responsible for international tax planning, transfer pricing, global tax compliance oversight, tax risk management, and tax governance. The Director will partner closely with Finance, Treasury, Legal, Accounting, and business leadership to support global growth and the Company's tax strategy. The role will also lead international tax personnel, manage external advisor relationships, and help establish the Mumbai GCC as a Global Tax Center of Excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Global Tax Leadership

  • Lead and oversee international tax activities across the Group's global operations.
  • Develop and implement the Group's global tax strategy, governance framework, and operating priorities.
  • Advise senior management on significant international tax matters and business initiatives.
  • Drive the development of the India-based GCC as a Global Tax Center of Excellence.

International Tax Planning and Compliance

  • Lead international tax planning initiatives that support the Company's business objectives, global tax profile, and cash tax position.
  • Advise business and finance leaders on the tax implications of global operations, cross-border and intercompany transactions, business expansion, financing arrangements, and legal entity structures.
  • Provide tax support for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, corporate restructurings, and other strategic transactions.
  • Oversee timely and accurate corporate income tax compliance across relevant jurisdictions.
  • Oversee global tax reporting, tax provisions, and statutory tax filings in coordination with local teams and external advisors.
  • Monitor developments in international tax law and evaluate their impact on the Group.

Transfer Pricing

  • Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of global transfer pricing policies aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee global transfer pricing compliance, including documentation, country-specific reporting, benchmarking studies, intercompany agreements, and cost-sharing arrangements.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external advisors to ensure the timely completion of transfer pricing documentation, filings, and reporting obligations across jurisdictions.
  • Monitor transfer pricing results, identify policy or compliance gaps, recommend adjustments, and support the operational execution of transfer pricing models.
  • Support tax audits, examinations, advance pricing agreements, and controversy matters by preparing analyses, documentation, and responses to tax authority requests.
  • Partner with Tax Planning, Supply Chain, Finance, and business teams on operating models, restructurings, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Tax Accounting and Reporting to ensure transfer pricing results are accurately reflected in tax provisions, tax returns, and financial reporting.
  • Develop financial models, profitability analyses, reporting tools, controls, and governance processes, and communicate transfer pricing requirements to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Indirect Tax Management

  • Provide oversight of VAT, GST, sales and use tax, customs, and other indirect tax matters across relevant jurisdictions.
  • Support business teams on indirect tax planning, compliance, audits, and operational matters.

Tax Risk and Governance

  • Establish and maintain effective tax governance, internal controls, and risk management frameworks.
  • Lead or coordinate tax audits, assessments, litigation, and dispute resolution matters with tax authorities.
  • Promote compliance with applicable tax laws, regulatory requirements, and internal control standards.

Stakeholder and Advisor Management

  • Partner closely with Global Finance, Legal, Treasury, Accounting, and business leadership teams.
  • Manage relationships with external tax advisors, consultants, auditors, and tax authorities.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of in-house tax professionals.
  • Drive performance management, capability development, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Ensure the high-quality, timely, and efficient delivery of global tax services.

Process Excellence and Automation

  • Drive the standardization, simplification, documentation, and automation of tax processes.
  • Leverage technology, data, and analytics to improve tax reporting, compliance, controls, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification required.
  • Additional specialization or certification in international taxation or transfer pricing preferred.
  • 12+ years of progressive tax experience, including substantial experience in a multinational organization, professional services firm, or GCC environment.
  • Prior experience using artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to enhance tax research, compliance, reporting, data analysis, or process automation would be a significant advantage.

Core Experience and Expertise

  • Demonstrated expertise in international taxation, transfer pricing, OECD/BEPS, Pillar Two, corporate income tax, indirect tax, tax risk management, and M&A tax advisory.
  • Proven experience managing tax matters across multiple jurisdictions and coordinating with local teams and external advisors.
  • Strong understanding of tax accounting, tax provisions, financial reporting, and the operational implementation of tax policies.
  • Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, analytical, communication, and judgment skills.
  • Ability to translate complex tax matters into clear, practical recommendations for senior management and non-tax stakeholders.
  • Experience building or scaling tax capabilities, teams, or processes in a multinational or GCC environment is preferred.
