Position Overview
The Director, Advisor Compensation & Revenue Operations is responsible for the strategic leadership, governance, and operational oversight of advisor compensation and billing functions. This role owns the end-to-end compensation ecosystem, including commission administration, billing operations, financial controls, process optimization, and technology strategy.
Serving as the organization's authority on advisor compensation and billing matters, this leader exercises independent judgment in the administration of compensation programs, resolution of complex financial issues, interpretation of compensation arrangements, and approval of operational exceptions. The Director is accountable for the accurate reconciliation, approval, and distribution of approximately $85 million in annual advisor compensation payments while ensuring operational scalability, regulatory compliance, and financial integrity.
This role partners closely with executive leadership to develop long-term operational strategy, lead system implementations and process transformation initiatives, and support the continued growth of the wealth management business. The position leads the Commission & Billing Manager and an expanded team responsible for daily compensation and billing operations while maintaining ultimate accountability for departmental performance and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
•    Provide strategic leadership and direction for advisor compensation, commission administration, and billing operations. 
•    Own the design, governance, execution, and continuous improvement of compensation and billing processes, controls, and operating procedures. 
•    Maintain accountability for the accurate reconciliation, approval, and distribution of approximately $85 million in annual advisor compensation payments. 
•    Serve as the final escalation point and decision-maker for complex compensation, billing, and advisor payment matters requiring advanced business judgment. 
•    Interpret compensation agreements, policies, and business rules, and approve exceptions or adjustments with significant financial or operational impact. 
•    Lead compensation and billing technology initiatives, including system selection, implementation, optimization, automation, and process modernization efforts. 
•    Develop and maintain strong financial controls that support accuracy, audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation. 
•    Partner with Finance, Operations, Compliance, Technology, and executive leadership to support strategic business initiatives and organizational growth. 
•    Lead, develop, and mentor the Commission & Billing Manager and team members, establishing a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement. 
•    Evaluate capacity, organizational structure, and resource needs to ensure the department can support future business expansion and increasing transaction volumes.

Scope of Responsibility
•    Executive accountability for all advisor compensation and billing operations across the organization.
•    Oversight of the reconciliation, approval, and distribution of approximately $85 million in annual advisor compensation payments.
•    Direct leadership of the Commission & Billing Manager and indirect leadership of a team responsible for compensation and billing administration.
•    Ownership of compensation, commission, and billing platforms, including future-state technology strategy and system implementation initiatives.
•    Authority to independently approve compensation exceptions, policy interpretations, and operational decisions within established governance standards.
•    Responsibility for operational processes that directly impact advisor satisfaction, financial reporting accuracy, revenue administration, and organizational growth.
•    Accountability for maintaining effective financial controls, minimizing operational risk, and ensuring scalability of compensation and billing operations.

Qualifications
•    Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA preferred. 
•    10+ years of progressive leadership experience within wealth management, broker-dealer, financial services, or advisor compensation environments. 
•    Demonstrated expertise in advisor compensation, commission administration, billing operations, financial controls, and revenue-related processes. 
•    Proven experience leading enterprise-scale compensation, billing, revenue operations, or financial operations functions with accountability for large-dollar financial transactions. 
•    Strong ability to exercise independent judgment and make complex business decisions involving financial, operational, regulatory, and advisor impact. 
•    Experience leading technology implementations, operational transformation initiatives, system enhancements, and process automation efforts. 
•    Proven success building, developing, and leading high-performing teams in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment. 
•    Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior leaders and build effective cross-functional partnerships. 
•    Knowledge of advisor compensation structures, commission processing, billing methodologies, and regulatory requirements applicable to wealth management and financial services organizations.
