Course: Data-Driven Instructional Methods for Secondary Educators

In this course, teacher candidates study methods and materials related to teaching secondary-grade 6-12 students. Emphasis is placed on analyzing data to evaluate and modify instruction. Candidates look at methodologies that encourage problem-solving, active participation, meeting diverse students’ needs, and professional collaboration. Focus is also placed on the practical applications of using all available data, including behavioral data, to drive instructional decisions. 

 What You Will Do:

• Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions

• Engage students in learning course objectives and topics

• Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom

• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

What You Will Bring:

·         Preferred: Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction or Doctorate in Instructional Leadership or Doctorate in Secondary Education or Doctorate in Learning and Teaching or related field.

·         Minimum: Masters in Education or Masters in Secondary Education or Masters in Curriculum in Instruction or related field AND 2 areas of exceptional expertise.

·         All instructors must have a valid state teacher certification in Secondary Education AN

o    3 years of teaching experience in a 6-12 classroom setting.
