• Courses are in-person and on-campus for the Spring 2027 semester (Class start date 01/04/2027)

Course: Child Development Including Health, Safety, and Nutrition

This course examines child growth and development, including milestones regarding physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development in order to align program and instructional planning with state guidelines and regulations in health, safety, and nutrition for young children with and without exceptionalities. Family education and communication are also emphasized.

 What You Will Do:

• Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions

• Engage students in learning course objectives and topics

• Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom

• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

What You Will Bring:

Master's Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education, Special Education, or related field AND 2 areas of exceptional expertise.

·         All instructors must have a valid state teacher certification in Early Childhood Eduction, Early Childhood Special Education or Special Educator OR

o    a valid state certification in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special Education or Special Education AND

o    a minimum of 3 years teaching students ages birth to age 8/grade 3 in a special education or inclusive education setting.
