The ideal candidate will be a self-starter able to work across multiple staff sections to self-task and guide J33 current operations in coordinating Department of War support to U.S. law-enforcement, interagency, and partner-nation counterdrug and counter-transnational organized crime activities in the Pacific.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Maintain day-to-day situational awareness of ongoing and emerging operational requirements, threats, partner requests, and operational risks affecting mission execution.
  • Coordinate with J2, J3, and other cross-functional staff elements to synchronize intelligence support, operational requirements, collection needs, partner engagement, and assessment activities.
  • Draft, coordinate, track, and support execution of approved taskings, operational requirements, synchronization products, and directives (including TASKORDs and OPORDs, as applicable) consistent with established command processes and authorities.
  • Integrate new missions, requirements, directives, and emerging priorities into J33 current-operations processes, operational battle rhythm, and execution tracking.
  • Coordinate, as directed, with U.S. law-enforcement agencies, interagency partners, USPACOM and component-command counterparts, and approved partner organizations in support of counterdrug and drug-related transnational organized crime activities.
  • Support operational assessment by developing, refining, and tracking measures of performance (MOPs), measures of effectiveness (MOEs), operational objectives, and associated assessment products.
  • Capture lessons learned and operational observations; identify trends, deficiencies, and process gaps; recommend corrective actions; and track implementation of approved improvements.
  • Support development and improvement of J33 workflows, dashboards, data-management processes, and authorized AI-enabled workflow tools to improve operational visibility and decision support.
  • Prepare agendas, read-aheads, operational summaries, briefing materials, decision papers, action trackers, and other decision-ready products; facilitate planning and synchronization events; capture decisions; and track follow-on actions to completion.

Required Education/Experience

  • Working knowledge of joint policy, joint planning processes, operational reporting, and staff coordination procedures.
  • Experience coordinating activities across multiple staff sections and managing simultaneous operational requirements in a dynamic environment.

  • Effective organizational, planning, analytical, and time-management skills, including the ability to manage changing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to draft, proofread, edit, and finalize products for senior leaders, operational customers, and external organizations.
  • High proficiency with SharePoint, Microsoft Office applications, and data-sharing, collaboration, and operational planning tools; familiarity with systems such as Command and Control of the Information Environment (C2IE) and Maven Smart System (MSS) is required.
  • Valid US Passport.
  • Active DoD TS security clearance with SCI eligibility.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting PACOM, a combatant command, joint task force, component command, or operational directorate, particularly a J3/J33 staff.
  • Previous experience supporting DoW counterdrug, counter-transnational organized crime, law-enforcement support, maritime security, intelligence-support-to-operations, or PACOM missions.
