About the position:

The Corporate Affairs Advisor will support the Head of Corporate Affairs in delivering Chevron India’s Corporate Affairs priorities across communications, stakeholder engagement, public affairs, reputation management and social investment.

This broad-based role requires working knowledge of internal and external communications, executive communications, social and digital media, media relations, public and government affairs, brand governance, events, social investment and issues management.

The Advisor will support planning and coordination across the portfolio, develop and review communications and stakeholder materials, monitor relevant external developments, and help ensure timely and high-quality delivery. The role will also support team coordination, agency and vendor management, budget tracking and functional reporting.
The successful candidate will be a well-rounded Corporate Affairs professional who can manage multiple priorities and work effectively with senior leaders, internal teams, external stakeholders and delivery partners.
 

Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday. These may evolve based on operational or business requirements.


Key Responsibilities:
 

Corporate Affairs Planning and Coordination

  • Support the development and implementation of Corporate Affairs plans aligned with Chevron India’s business priorities and enterprise direction.

  • Translate agreed priorities into coordinated communications, stakeholder engagement, public affairs and reputation-management activities.

  • Coordinate deliverables, inputs, timelines and approvals across Corporate Affairs workstreams.

  • Support complex, confidential or high-priority assignments and prepare briefing materials, reports and progress updates.

  • Coordinate with regional and enterprise Corporate Affairs teams to support alignment and a OneChevron approach.

Internal and Executive Communications

  • Support internal communications across leadership messages, organizational announcements, campaigns, newsletters, town halls and employee channels.

  • Develop speeches, talking points, briefing notes, presentations, messages and other materials for the Country Head and senior leaders.

  • Translate complex business, technology, policy and organizational matters into clear, credible and audience-appropriate communications.

  • Coordinate inputs, review and approvals, ensuring accuracy and alignment with Chevron’s messages, voice and editorial standards.

  • Use available analytics and feedback to support improvements in communications planning and delivery.

Social, Digital and External Communications

  • Support editorial planning, content development, campaigns, monitoring and performance reporting across social and digital channels.

  • Review content for strategic relevance, accuracy, tone, brand compliance and reputational considerations.

  • Support media relations through the development of statements, Q&As, media responses, briefing materials and story opportunities.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, agencies and regional or enterprise teams on external communications.

  • Monitor relevant media and digital conversations and flag emerging issues.

  • Ensure external communications accurately represent Chevron’s role and avoid unsupported or exaggerated claims.

Stakeholder Engagement and Public Affairs

  • Support engagement with government, diplomatic, industry, institutional, academic, media, community and business stakeholders.

  • Prepare stakeholder maps, engagement plans, meeting briefs, talking points and follow-up materials.

  • Monitor relevant policy, regulatory, political, economic and social developments and summarize potential implications for Chevron India.

  • Support the preparation of submissions, responses, advocacy materials and industry association inputs.

  • Coordinate internal preparation and follow-through for significant stakeholder engagements.

Issues and Reputation Management

  • Monitor emerging policy, media, digital, stakeholder and reputational issues.

  • Support research, analysis and the development of appropriate response materials.

  • Prepare holding statements, Q&As, briefing notes, stakeholder communications and crisis-response materials.

  • Coordinate inputs from relevant business and functional teams.

  • Handle sensitive and confidential matters with sound judgment and discretion.
     

Brand Governance

  • Review communications, digital assets, event materials, signage and branded merchandise for alignment with Chevron’s brand and editorial standards.

  • Guide internal teams, agencies and vendors on approved brand assets, templates, naming and messaging.

  • Coordinate relevant reviews and help address noncompliant materials before production or publication.
     

Social Investment

  • Support Chevron India’s social investment programs, including partner assessment, due diligence, governance, implementation, reporting and communications.

  • Coordinate with partners and relevant internal functions on agreed deliverables, budgets and review requirements.

  • Support leadership engagements, employee participation and program-related activities.

  • Ensure communications accurately represent Chevron’s role and program outcomes without overstatement.
     

Events and Strategic Engagements

  • Support executive visits, employee town halls, government and industry meetings, media engagements, partner events and other corporate programs.

  • Prepare event briefs, agendas, run-of-show documents, speaker materials and stakeholder plans.

  • Coordinate communications, branding, logistics and delivery with internal teams, agencies, vendors and external partners.
     

Team, Agency and Vendor Support

  • Support coordination across the Corporate Affairs team and delivery partners, including work planning, prioritization and follow-through.

  • Review outputs for quality, accuracy, alignment and completeness.

  • Coordinate agencies and vendors against agreed briefs, scopes, timelines, quality standards and Chevron requirements.

  • Support team capability through feedback, knowledge sharing and process improvements.
     

Budget, Billing and Reporting

  • Support Corporate Affairs budget planning, expenditure tracking and periodic reporting.

  • Track contracts, purchase orders, estimates and invoices, and review billing against approved scopes and completed deliverables.

  • Coordinate with procurement, finance, agencies and vendors on relevant commercial and payment matters.

  • Flag budget variances, scope changes and unplanned costs.

  • Support measurement and reporting across communications, media, digital, stakeholder and delivery activities.
     

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • 10-15 years of relevant experience in corporate affairs, public affairs, corporate communications, reputation management or a related field.

  • Working knowledge across multiple Corporate Affairs disciplines.

  • Strong writing, editing, research and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience developing communications and briefing materials for senior leaders.

  • Experience supporting internal and external stakeholder engagement.

  • Understanding of issues management, media relations, digital communications and brand governance.

  • Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and deadlines.

  • Experience working with agencies and vendors and managing deliverables.

  • Working knowledge of budgets, purchase orders, invoices and financial tracking.

  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive or confidential matters.

  • Ability to collaborate across functions, geographies and cultures and influence without formal authority.

  • Understanding of the Indian business, policy, media and stakeholder environment.

  • Experience in energy, engineering, technology or another complex or regulated sector would be advantageous.
